Thought I'd do a quick blog about this dare I posted to the Loser has to game.
"Next: winner rolls a six-sided dice -
https://play-link.com/random/ Loser has to participate in as many different forum games as determined by the roll.
As an optional add on, the winner can choose a number between 1 & 6 when sharing the delayed roll link, if that number matches the roll the loser then does another roll, with the winner participating in the lower rolled number of games, the loser in the higher plus the winner decides two of the threads the loser must join. If there's no match, then the winner chooses a single thread for the loser to join."
There were a few days while a loser was awaited, and some discussions took place. With a single die roll, there's a chance of a low number coming up, which is precisely what happened with a 1 being rolled! We'd already discussed this and decided that three dice should be rolled with the highest counting for the loser, the lowest for the winner and all 3 counting for the gamble.
The updated dare:
"Next: winner rolls three six-sided dice -
https://play-link.com/random/ Loser must participate in as many different forum games as determined by the highest number rolled. The winner chooses one game that the loser must join and a further two from which they must join one. All other required games are a free choice for the loser. Incidentally, any games where the loser is already in an active round are ineligible.
As an optional add on, the winner can choose a number between 1 & 6 when sharing the delayed roll link, if that number matches any of the dice, then the winner must participate in games equal to the lowest number rolled. The winner now decides two of the threads the loser must join and a further four threads, of which they must join two (if the higher number is below four, this reverts to one game from two options) If there's no match, then the winner has no requirement to join threads and can revell in sending the loser their selections.
The loser has 24 hours from receipt of the winner's nominations to make their posts."
For me, this was an attempt to push myself a little, taking some control away ups the excitement. Of course, the forum games have varying levels of risk of mess, some have good odds of staying clean, others less so. Then there's the games that can bring further mess and challenges.
I was sent to the Wheel of Messfortune and Pyrmid game and graciously given free choice for the other 4 games. The WOM wasn't exactly kind to me And for the pyramid, the spinner came up with D, which aligned with the required forfeits to be added. I did spin it again twice to see if E would come up, but it was A and D again, so D it was. It would be easy to post simple, single item forfeits in that scenario, but that wouldn't be in the spirit of the game, nor sporting for the reason I was there. What I put in will probably not go well for me whenever the pyramid is completed. The only game where I felt my post was a bit cheeky was the hot potato as I boomed the round and started another one, however I have juggled it again to increase the risk of mess. Playing a lot of games quickly can also highlight areas where simplicity becomes complicated, such a specified day actions in a world of multiple time zones
