I've done three of the divine beasts and I sometimes wonder if there is a part of me that has been avoiding the main story quests to avoid finishing it. It is just so amazingly well put together. There was a good video podcast on youtube when it came out with four experienced game devs, one of whom actually knew some of the Nintendo team, discussing the many ways that Nintendo just knocked it out of the park on their first open world game. When games spend years in development you sometimes wonder where the time was spent but here you can see it in a hundred different ways. From the way the player sets the difficulty, skirt a Lynel if you wish, to the physics engine. I could go on and on. Like how finally a game that allows me to actually climb pretty much everything I can see! Red Dead will be graphically impressive I expect but BotW is going to change how I look at its environments and I bet there will be whole areas that will be impassable. What do you mean I can't go fishing with electricity, use a ballon to float those explosives over that gang, slide down that snow field on a shield or use a chicken as a levitation device

It's going to be a long wait but I can't wait to see what they come up with for the next Metroid. I hope they are using the same engine.

btw I voted zelda so I could see the results I expect I will pick up one of the others whilst I carry on exploring Hyrule

100% in BotW is impressive. The korok tests are just a wonderful example of the polish in the game. Just something to be discovered - well if I manage to avoid cracking open the players guide. The ballon shoot over the canyon has had me howling though Had to put that on the list of things to come back to for my mental health.

How does the 5 star horse compare to the bike in the DLC?

Thanks for the tips. Diablo always looked like the game I would have loved when I was a kid and had a group of like minded friends to play with. Not that I think it is just for kids, just that my real world friends are not gamers unfortunately. I'm terrible at shooters, but I've enjoyed watching people play both games.

Diablo is not a shooter. It is a 3rd person top down dungeon crawler. Borderlands is a shooter. My girlfriend hates shooters but absolutely loves diablo. Plus you can play with multiple people in the same room with no fucking split screen!!! Keep in mind the online play requires the playstation online subscription bullshit. But lan party play is totally supported and is pretty decent. It sucks that your real world friends aren't much of gamers, but trust me there are a ton of people to play with. Plus the solo play is awesome. There is nothing special about the game that you can't do solo. You don't need a crowd of people. As far as the achievement stuff. It is not like with WOW for example where there are things you have to have a group for or achievements you need a group for. You really only need 1 other player for all the achievements. All but 1 can be gotten with the same system. The only time you need another system is for the achievement where you warp to the other person. Piece of cake.

I did sneak a couple of hours on it earlier just to get a feel for it. Having done that I can see what you mean. With all the details in the HUD it felt like I was playing WoW sometimes, but with the disadvantage of it being on a TV across the room. At least for these aging eyes
