On tonight's episode of "The Thundermans" entitled "Aunt Misbehavin", a cute pasty store owner (played by an actress named Ashlee Fuss), takes a giant pastry filled with cream to the face.

A very nice hit. Folks on the west coast will still be able to catch this episode, and it will also be shown again tonight on NICK2 at 11:00pm EDT and again at 7pm tomorrow on Nickelodeon.

For some reason I still have this set to record (holdover from Haunted Hathaways I guess) and it only takes about 3 minutes to FF through the entire episode, so I still do it out of habit. As soon as I watched the first bakery scene... where the blonde is clearly the "stuck-up diva who deserves what's coming to her" character, telling the cute lil' moppet that she is gonna throw a giant cream puff in her face... I kinda nodded and went, "I know what's coming...."

Say what you will about NICK/Disney (and there's a LOT to say)... But they know how to work their many cliches. The only question was if it would be a quality hit (YES!) with some close-up (SURE!) and aftermath (a bit, about normal for a mainstream show). Definitely the best mainstream clip since the demise of HH. (Still not sure how that got cancelled when the other stuff around it is equally stupid... but that's why I don't run kid's television.)

I've also determined that the cute actress who plays the mom on the show has a "no mess" clause in her contract... as they've never touched her, and tonight would've been a golden opportunity. (She gets "dizzy" from breakdancing and falls into the table holding her birthday cake.) Sadly, she hits the table to send the cake... on the ground.

The episode title is "Aunt Misbehavin," and you can find it on YouTube (albeit cropped in a way to avoid takedown). The buildup to it is pretty great, and let's be honest.... The big appeal of a mainstream scene IS the buildup, if it's done well.

I don't watch much Nick programming, but I do watch "The Thundermans" when I can. Partly to see the mom character played Rosa Blasi because she is nice to look at. But mainly because the show features "Adult Swim" alumni Dana Snyder as the voice of Dr. Colosso.

Snyder helped write and voice many of the "Adult Swim's" classic shows. He steals the show when he is voicing Colosso.


I don't think it was ratings because I don't believe its ratings were that bad. I think it was cost. This show had a large cast. Several Nick shows do, but I believe it was all the special effects the show had as well. That ran up costs.

It was too bad, because it seemed like a adult female character was getting messy in that show every week. Whether it was the mom character, or some female customer of the bakery. It was great.


She got a little messy in one episode where Dr. Colosso was smashing a cake and her character and the Dad character got some of it spattered on them. Not much. but it was there.

They had an episode several weeks ago where the older Asian lady dunked her head into a pot of chili (Max was controlling her with his telekinesis).

But I thought, eh.

I went to the trouble of creating a clip in HD that shows not only the actual pie hit, but also the buildup. The buildup is actually pretty solid, considering, if you're someone who likes your WAM scenes to have a "point."

Anyway I still wants to see Kira Kosarin (she's 19 or 20 now) gettin pied nicely or in some other messy stuff. She got gunged in one of the first episodes and I was expecting to see her messy quite often (ala Amber Montana in the Haunted Hathaways) but since then almost no mess for her.

True story: I had a post banned within minutes on here some years back.... I couldn't figure it out. It was a Latina hottie getting well-pied on some community news/talk show. The person pieing her was an adult... Everyone in the crowd was an adult... Then I watched it closely, and there was a half-second where the camera panned the crowd and spied a little kid.

In other words, the mods take the "no kids" rule VERY seriously. And given the move to straight porn in a lot of postings, that makes sense.

Yep, and I think the entire reason I set Thundermans to record was because of the early gunging of Kira. It seemed like this show was a companion to HH and would follow the same formula.
In reality, it seems like none of the principal cast (including Kira, but especially the hottie Latina wife) is allowed to get legit messy. The handful of messy moments seem to happen to some random extra or a one-shot actor. That said, a different blonde actress got well pied a while back (clip is probably out there, maybe from Season 2?) so there's precedent. It's just not consistent for that.

The beauty of HH was not just the bakery setting, which offered messy potential basically every show, but also that the female cast apparently had terrible contracts, so there were all fair game as well. The mom (Jennifer something?) had about 4 messy moments, and the poor lead actress had even more than that. Add in the usual one-shots getting messy (one girl had the best cake fall in years) and you had a mainstream show that was actually producing consistent content.

So naturally, it was the only show in the lineup to get cancelled.

Yep, that was from the season 1 episode "Pretty Little Choirs". The actress' name is Gilland Jones.

Ginnifer King (mom) and Amber Montana were in Haunted Hathaways. The most amazing thing about that show: there was at least one messy scene per episode, most of them really good ones and just a few weak ones, and 90% of the time female wam. I can't remember male wam in the show, maybe just the kid got pied once or twice, but most of the time ladies got pied, caked or gunged. The two stars of the show (Amber and Ginifer) were a great sport, but also extras gettin messy were always girls. Amazing stuff.
