Just wondering how many people here actually enjoy my content? With how impossible it is to get anywhere in this industry unless you can somehow do everything on the cheap buy still produce good content, it's next to impossible to get anywhere. I'm considering calling it quits, I just wanted to know how many people out there actually enjoy the content and want to see me continue making content.
I have the upmost respect for producers - I understand that it must be a difficult business in which to make a profit. Keep up the good work, producers on UMD do us wammers an amazing service
Personally I would love to see some one-piece swimsuit mess
"This industry" as in making pay-per-view videos where pretty girls get slimed? I don't know how far a relative new kid on the block can go in that industry. It's a content-based game so to have a chance you have to be pumping out content. I mean, you need be almost annoying with the number of new videos you're releasing on the market. And this isn't the kind of business where you can just niche down and get more money from a specialized audience. Unless you're open to customs, the only way you can make money is by appealing to everyone: foot guys, nudity guys, guys who like certain outfits, guys who like certain body types, guys who want wide angles, guys who want closeups.
Exhausted yet?
If you're doing this to get the wide-scale adoration that 10-year veterans get then you might as well save you money and do something else. There are just too many guys and gals doing the same thing. You need to be doing this for you. Because your ability to love your work is going to be the only thing keeping you from considering quitting in moments like this.

In addition to this, content creation is all about pushing. I've learned very quick that the sales came from the last video you put out, and if you want to get more money, you've got to keep pushing content. Once a new video comes out, the sales of the last one will drop. I'm sure you've seen this as well, but this is something that we as producers have to work around.
The thing is that this market, just like any sexual/fetish based market is heavy saturated (no pun intended). You need to change things up. In my opinion, and I apologise for sounding blunt, but just having a girl say "I'm here to get slimed" gets old really quick. If you change up how/why they get slimed/messy, and sort out how/when you produce/release content, things may pick up again, and you'll get that high again.
I've seen low sales for videos I've done, and thought I'd give up, but then the next video has picked up loads of sales. Try to change up what you do, if you can, and see what works. You fill up your pool for whst looks like an infinite gunging, which is great, but why not have wrestling matches instead of a straight gunging? Or a losing girl has to belly flop into it, or something like that?
I'd like to hope you don't give up, and I hope you find what works.
I'm gonna go slightly across the grain of the last comment and say do infinite gungings, but have storylines-
- I'm not sure if this is possible, but you could mix chocolate syrup with gunge and do something like a chocolate fountain mishap at a birthday party or Easter brunch and trash a sundress
- gungeuation- Jane is about to graduate from university, and they have confetti set to come down, but they pull the wrong lever and she gets gunged in her cap and gown and fancy white dress instead.
I would say to keep filming as long as you are enjoying it. Don't do it for the money. From what I have read you might break even and have a little left over, but you aren't going to make bank. If you are in it for the money, I would suggest something like Chatterbate or Only Fans.
I've never seen your store before. I'm assuming you're discouraged because you're not getting enough positive feedback to keep going? I don't know what your specific situation is, but it looks like you have a really awesome setup for sliming people. Like you have that pump and the piping and everything. So it'd be a huge shame to lose that potential. I haven't bought anything because I need full nudity/dildo masturbation to enjoy stuff, but surely there's more room to try stuff? Like maybe different models or situations.

Thank you, im glad we are appreciated, it takes a lot of effort to do this.

I unfortunately don't have the resources to be able to release video after video after video, nor do I have the funds to be able to afford that due to not even covering the models payment costs from each sale, I fully understand what you're saying about the same old boring stuff all the time, im trying to find ways to get away from it and add a heap of creativity to it but it makes it incredibly hard when I have to be mobile as I don't have a studio and most of the time I have to travel to models to shoot with them. I do offer customs but it's very hard to book them in as I need to have a shoot weekend booked with my models first to be able to do them.
I can't find models who are willing to do anything explicit past lingerie shoots. The problem is that this industry has been ruined by the introduction of porno wam into the scene and that is practically all that most people want majority of the time from what I've seen, the days of content like mostwam fully clothed no sex stuff are gone and that's destroying so many producers that can't compete with it, not to mention all these backyarders that are getting into it and doing porno sex stuff and selling it for a dime. Unless you're an already heavily established producer, no one can compete with that sort of thing. Or very few anyway.

Yeah I 100% get that and I've answered a few of these points in previous replies, I just can't fund a massive release overload like that as I don't have the content for one, I then also don't have the time to edit it all, im limited to my iPad and phone for editing and have shit software and don't have the money for a half decent laptop.
The pool is very small, it's only 1.2x1.2 metres and honestly I don't have the resources or capacity to be doing shoots like that as it will cost twice as much as there's 2 girls in 1 scene and it will need a much bigger pool therefore requiring a lot more materials which im already struggling with the cost of as HEC and methylcellulose are incredibly expensive to source over here, usually 3-4 times the price of what it is in the uk or the us.
I was doing a weekly upload but I sort of lost motivation for it all due to the previously mentioned editing crap, UMD also have a 1.5gb upload limit that heavily implicates things as all of my videos are guaranteed to be over that and it's 3-5 hours of editing and video compressing drama and crap just to edit one video. So I lost motivation for it after a bit.
I do plan on trying to be a lot more creative with the reason for the sliming and how they get slimed though, it's just very hard with the fact that most people want porno wam now and I just can't do that. Finding one who will do that to begin with let alone the price she will want for it is off the planet. I had a model want 1200aud for one single shoot just to do a topless shoot. And the ones who say they're keen to do it for a cheap price because it's for the experience of it are usually full of Shit and just waste your time. So im being pushed into a corner at the moment hence why im weighing up my options, considering im looking at a $2000 investment into a dual compartment gunge tank and adding a heap of extra pumps into the system and using it as a game show style system i really want to know if it's worth it first.

That's actually 2 really really god ideas to be honest, I will definitely be putting them into motion for sure, thank you very much for the ideas!

Definitely trying to do it for the money, onlyfans are grubs and won't allow accounts that post content that's shared involvement. The person that holds the account is the only person that can be featured in the content that's posted. I already tried that quite a few months ago. Not sure about chatterbate though, never heard of it to be honest but I'll check them out, thanks for the suggestions

No it's because of serious lack of sales and the extreme costs of everything. I can't do porno wam stuff for reasons I've explained in a previous reply and in my honest opinion, think that porno wam has ruined the industry as that's what majority of people want now and if a producer can't produce scenes like that then they fall over and have no sales and have no success
I guess I'm part of the problem as I haven't purchased your work but it is something that does get my attention when you post on the forum and Zahli is a stunning model.
I am definitely in the (possibly smaller) crowd that do not necessarily want porno. For me there are less fully clothed scenes, and those are the ones that appeal more to me.
As consumers there is so much product out there that it's just not possible to buy every scene that we like. However there will be people out there like me who are interested in your work and may purchase in the future.
I hope that you don't give up, but I can see all the challenges that you face.

Glad I could help! Looking forward to hopefully seeing a sundress under the infinite gunge stream (even if it's not a maxi dress).

Yeah, I find the pornification of WAM really annoying too, but the reason it happens is because that's what makes the easiest money.
So if you really want to get into the WAM "business" those are the type of decisions you need to be thinking about. Now you don't have to go the porn route. You can commission customs to the smaller market that loves what you do. But whatever you do, it's going to be a lot of work on your end and a lot of compromise setting your preferences aside for the sake of making money. You might not like it, but that's the price of a profit motive.
And that's the case for all successful business: hard work, financial investment, and come-to-Jesus moments for years until the endeavor starts supporting itself. If anything, it's even harder in WAM, where you can't SEO and expand your way out of ruts. I'm not sure what you expected by this point in your journey, but if the lights are still on and you've got people who care whether you quit or not, you're doing pretty well.
But if you need to turn profits right now then yeah, you should probably quit.
No it's because of serious lack of sales and the extreme costs of everything. It's interesting the way you summarize. You're spending more than you're making to make your current content. You believe that 'porno wam' would sell more, and that a producer who doesn't produce that will have no sales. But your conclusion is basically that the customer preferences are somehow wrong. It seems like you want the customers to want what you're selling rather than to produce what the customers are buying.
So your barrier is you haven't found models willing to do the explicit stuff. So perhaps work on that. Maybe try another channel to find models, or start off looking for models who do explicit and then narrow down to those who will do messy? Then you'll be the one making all the sales from the porno-wam. Plus your cool setup is exclusive to you, and you're the only one in Australia. So if you find a model people click with, like a messygirl Amy, Ivy Rain, etc. then anyone who wants that model has to go to you for customs, so you'll be in a way better position.
Or maybe do something totally outside the box. Like you could fully document your setup with instructions on how to make it, and sell that?

While I'm not sure of their exact sales, The Man and the Wife shows otherwise, as none of their scenes fall into what you or others are referring to as the "pornification" of WAM yet they seem to be doing quite well. Not that I'm un-sympathetic to your plight, but I don't know if gatekeeping and blaming "backyard porn producers" for your lack of sales is going to help draw attention to your store. I doubt that's the main force at work here. Not saying that says anything bad about your store, but more than likely there are a myriad of contributing, random factors at play here.
Sorry, I've just seen this boomer narrative cropping up a lot about the "wholesome WAM" of the old days and I can't help but find it a bit silly.
I have read your posts and have a few thoughts which I hope may help:
There have been a number of polls on this site over the years and it seems like fully clothed WAM is more popular than nude or explicit. Though I will concede from looking at the most popular downloads from Mostwam/Customwam before they left it looked like the scenes with stripping and vibrators etc were the most popular. I think that there are a number of factors that affect sales, the old YCDTOTV trope sells well (just ask the man and the wife or KelseyRose) and of course video quality, popularity of models and plot etc. matter greatly. Overall I don't think pornification of WAM is holding you back.
I have gotten customs from Australian based models for as little as 250 AUD up to 500 USD and all of them were 2 models, fully nude too. Full disclosure, they were young 19-25 year olds who were primarily travelling and doing modelling/stripping to fund a gap year or whatever (check my albums if you like). Also, they used very basic mess and recorded the videos on their iphones but the point I make is that you can find models who will do way more than topless for far less than 1200 AUD. If you hunt on (lets say) instagram for Australian models who also have an onlyfans profile offering customs then you have a way in to contact and offer to hire. Though if you want to film them in person you will surely need other models you have worked with to vouch for you, there must be some kind of online platform for building your reputation as a safe producer. Also, caveat emptor (not that I want to dehumanise the models of course but if they will work for less than you expect then don't expect 100% reliability etc.).
As for making enough profit from WAM vids to fund new videos on I can only suggest you talk to those who are doing so. I believe the Reverend Slymford and Messygirl do this. Perhaps there are some more but I understand that for most producers it is a labour of love more than a business venture. I'm not a financial advisor but if you asked me the best way to invest $2,000 I would not say "upgrade your slime tank".
I hope some of this helped. I wish you the best and respect you for making a move and producing your own content
3/6/23, 3:56pm: Poster confirmed that they are not posting references to specific scenes, or content bearing logos or titles, from the show "You Can't Do That On Television"
The return on investment part of the wam business is risky at best.. lots of good points mentioned by people around. A lot of the more successful producers are couples.. when your significant other is into producing wam you will not face the same issue a single producer will have. It's never fun when a scene doesnt sell well, but when the model shares that risk as a team, I guess if the fun is still there the store will survive.. a lot of those couples started just the 2 of them and started to add models once the ball got rolling. The growth of those stores are more organic and will tolerate a slower start.. so I guess having a hot girlfriend willing to open a store with you would help a lot. I guess that is not an option at the moment. I also notice that the models you hire are super hot, which is great.. but it also means they probably don't hate any problems finding good paying contracts and will charge accordingly.. Finding girls next door that are not really model's would probably be more affordable and probably not affect sales negatively since you are in the fully clothed wam.
So I'd say keep it up, keep searching for amateurs models I'm sure you can find some that are more affordable.
One last thing, Most of us are picky on the material they will purchase, but the one thing almost all customer will have in common is we want good lighting and HD quality. I see in your more recent scene those have improved a lot and I'm sure it will help in the long run.
A random thought- do you have the ability to rent the infinite gunge tank out for people who might want to have that experience? The fee could include using the tank and supplies, and a video.
You stated that you are 'definitely doing it for the money' (but also that you are limited in what you can produce for the many reasons you stated)...
You will need to be honest with yourself: is THAT (making money) the ONLY reason you make vids? Why did you choose this genre (wam; sub-genre: slimings)? Does it appeal to you erotically (fetish or just really sexy) or aesthetically (artistic or creative reasons)?
If it is only the first reason ($), then you will continue to have the problems and stumbling blocks you noted (until you get more money). But if it is only "business", the motivation will fade (too much work and money, not enough profit), and you will start looking for other (easier) ways to make money. Maybe.
BTW, you do NOT need high-end editing software to make a video that sells (I use a VERY basic default video editor program that comes with the cheap Aspire V5 notebook i use). I use this video editor to make all my videos now. Sure, back when I was first making slapstick videos (whether 'straight' or eroticized), I did have a friend help with the editing (using Vegas video), and consequently, took advantage of many of the pro-editing feature of that program....but over the past 6-7 years, all the videos I've made (including my last novelty wam vid 'Country Girl Cream Pies') were made with this cheap/basic video editor program. It simplifies everything. It's about the quality of the 'raw' content -- if that is good or great, you don't need fancy-schmancy editing software. You can also break up your scenes into separate segments and sell them separately (you just have to lower the dl price for each accordingly).
Now, if you are doing it because you love the wam genre (whether as fetish or aesthetic fascination), you might not make more money, but you will continue making vids (and being creative in how you produce them) for a longer time...simply because you love doing it...and, you might just hit upon the perfect 'formula' or approach that sells well.
My advice: 1] take some time to scout out/locate one or two models (who are physically attractive to your general target audience) and who are pleasant to work with and understand what you are trying to do (and agree to a reasonable modeling fee, or profit share). Don't rush to produce more videos until you've found the 'right' models. That's important.
2] Take a good look at successful wam producers (working in your preferred genre) and their content. Try to identify the elements that make these vids 'better' (such that someone is willing to spend cash on them). Then ask yourself: Can I do better? Can I do something different (in one or two key ways ;your 'personal touch') that will ADD to the appeal of the video? Can you do it within a reasonable budget?
3] Shoot (produce) your video to fit the editing software you HAVE, not the software you WANT. Remember: make your raw footage as high quality as you can (two HD cams, good lighting, good props [pies or slime], good wardrobe ...and an ATTRACTIVE* model) ...and just use simple cuts {screw the fades and fancy transitions, and any unnecessary FX, music, or graphics) -- just the basics...and see how things turn out (I don't know what your creative process is, but it seems overly ambitious and unnecessarily complicated -- SIMPLIFY your process!).
* "attractive" here means attractive to a majority [like > 80% of straight males, if you're into females] of people (i.e., your target audience [e.g., hetero males] -- there IS a science to attractiveness, or 'beauty')...a pretty face and nice body ('personality' helps 'sell' attractiveness, but it's not as 'weighty' as a pretty face and a fit body). Ask your hetero male friends to rate the attractiveness of candidate models (their photos, not in person, of course). Pick the one the majority rated highest (even if you disagree). Hope that she is reliable and pleasant to work with. The rest is execution (of the video, not the model )
I've purchased some of your videos and really enjoyed them. You have unique set up and the models get covered. Maybe try some simple things. More feet focus, more head dunkings, split these longer videos up and sell them separately for e.g. feet guys, head dunking guys etc
