Man, remember the "frustration" with Chega Mais back in the day? And PoR?
Although, technically, it wasn't frustration with the shows or the girls getting pied (at least not for me) as much as wanting the program to MAXIMIZE the mess while it was around.... Because we all knew this was a finite thing. Those CM clips, in particular, are great because they leave out all the garbage. SO much time wasted on the "twins," or Curly getting bombarded with pies by his own team.... when that time could've been better spent pieing all the gorgeous women who, somehow, couldn't find better work than a low-rent Brazillian talk show.
ANYWAY. As we unfortunately predicted, Chega started to die a few months after it became Conexao. PoR got cancelled, then returned, but with more dudes, less hotties, and fewer pies. Then COVID happened and they turned into a glorified version of the "Pie Face" game. (I checked out the new episode with Flavia just to see. She looked amazing. Took one lame spring-loaded pie. Covered her eyes. Garbage coverage. It was sad to watch.)
2014-16 is gonna be looking back on as the last glory days for mainstream pies. Glad we were around to see it.... and capture all the good stuff on our HD while it was uploaded....

For me the blow was slightly softened by the fact EEG Panama was still delivering some great stuff for a little bit longer.
Chega was a lot more consistent though!! And filmed almost perfectly.

See, Rich, I'm grateful to longtime producers like yourself, Messygirl, Mrs Bee etc. But, yeah, I'd love to turn on the TV and see an unexpected great pie scene. But, you may as well be like Linus waiting on the Great Pumpkin.

She was called down to pie one of the guys, then they turned the tables on her and she took an absolutely perfect green pie. Can't find it for the life of me, so I'm hoping it wasn't removed. Anyone remember this one? Great pie, great reaction.

Yeah, they were the last holdouts. Once they got cancelled, it's been a Latin American desert.
I mean, the Guerreros shows provide good content occasionally. But not consistently. The official channel (Canal1) doesn't seem to be able to do uploads in actual HD either.
EEG (the original) has also started working pies back in, but the dudes tend to suck up all the oxygen there, even when the women are allowed to participate.
American shows are largely awful. The Kristen Bell one has been disappointing, I'm sure the AFT "pie fight" would've been a letdown had it aired.
That EEG one is a great clip, mainly because I always really liked Alejandra, the blonde on the right. Her or Neka stepping up to the plate on Chega Mais would've been ideal.
