According to this article Chega Mais is officially over. A new show with a new name and SIMILAR format begins this Sunday.
It's not stated in the article whether pies or mess will be part of the new program.
Using google translate the article reads:
Next Sunday (20), the RedeTV! will debut Models Connection program. Under the command of the model Renata Kuerten, the Sunday promises to bring a lot of joy, adrenaline and excitement with disputes and the most entertaining games in a setting shaped arena, which will bring the audience and the public house closest to the participants.
The attraction will also include a beauty contest that will choose the new star of the country and will give more than $ 1 million in prizes.
Inspired by the technology, the young world and the world of fashion, the Models Connection is a partnership of RedeTV! with Mega Model, one of the country's largest modeling agencies, casting with more than 400 professionals, including the tops of most prestigious in Brazil.
The Models Connection will air on Sundays at 18:30 by RedeTV !.
It appears that everybody's favorite blonde crybaby Barbara will be a part of the new program. She left the message: "estamos chegando" (translated "We're Coming").
I assume that many of the former models will be returning.
I would be more than happy for it to come back with pies involved in any capacity, even if it's the most one-sided affair we get subjected to yet... because at least they'd be back and there would be hope.
New format might mean they completely change the show... and the worst thing that could happen would be that they change it up and the rating soar.
I suppose there's a chance that pies are involved, but based on the brief description, it doesn't sound likely. Then again, who knows?
At least the official channel (both FB and IG) have given up all pretense of Chega Mais still existing... to the tune of deleting ALL the previous posts and pics. (Except for the female host hyping this new show.)
Silver lining: At least Curly won't achieve his lifetime goal of being hit with 100 pies in one show.

Considering how quickly the new show is being aired I'd be surprised if the pies were eliminated. Pies comprised nearly 40 minutes of the 90 minute program. What would they replace pies with? Are they going to have the models read from Shakespeare? Only a few of the models have any actual talent. Chega Mais had great difficulty creating games for the first half of the show. If they got rid of the pie fight the entire program would be barely watchable. The only obstacle to continuing the pie fight that I can come up with is legal. Perhaps the legal dispute that led to the cancellation of Chega Mais prohibits the new show from continuing the pie fight.

I love your optimism, we need more of that (you hear that, Mr. Debbie Downer Rich?)
Yeah though, I'm worried the legality prohibits the pies, that maybe they're forced to completely change the show - which would be ironic since the piss boy that is crying about this was apparently upset in the pie-centric direction the show took and not his original (boring) interview format.
Fingers crossed. No more negativity! Think positive!
Well, as with all things Chega Mais, we're all talking out of our asses here. No one knows anything about this show beyond the fact that the same female host is returning, and they're obviously trying to move the CM audience to this new show by using the same official channel to hype it.
The "disputes" could mean a pie game. The "arena" makes me think of something more like EEG. (Which would be... "Eh.") The "beauty contest" probably won't be compatible with pies, if I know Brazil and their love of pageant contestants.
I'd rather assume the worst and be pleasantly surprised, rather than hoping for a new-and-improved CM and being disappointed.
"Nevertheless, the attraction of the S Paulo channel Sundays will not be very different from its predecessor, as well as the other, will have many games and contests."
This is mildly encouraging that pies will be a part of the new program.
I expect a new IG and FB page will be up and running before Sunday's premiere.
Hopefully we'll know very soon whether or not pies will fly on **Conexao Models** (that's the new name of the program).
