Nothing says "late 2000s" like a sweet Southern girl eagerly getting pied (with her friend laughing hysterically off-camera) with *three* separate skits tangentially related to her experience working at, um... Hooters.
Also, the name Paula.
Back in 2009, Paula was an absolute blast: Petite & perky & pied into oblivion! (Pretty sure we topped 60 pies in that first SS82 shoot.) Her very first pieing is the stuff of legend, partially because I used it at the tail end of the 5-year trailer... And partially because she starts laughing hysterically, without even attempting to wipe, for a full 30 seconds. It really sums up everything that was great about that era.
The rest of the shoot was a nice mix of classic SS skits (top hat girl, baker girl) and Paula being adorable. She immediately asked to return, this time with another friend (from Hooters, obv) who could also get messy. And that's how we got SS88 with Ashton, which was surprisingly NOT a great seller... Even though both girls are super cute and excited to give (and get) pies... Plus they have that "tall/short" dynamic which just makes for great comedy, right? (Also, poor Ashton trying to balance on those heels while getting pelted with pies.... Still unintentionally hilarious.) Perhaps SS88 is due for a reappraisal? Hmm. If nothing else, Scene 3 (the slime one) is a nice mix of very dumb verbal jokes (centered around teaching the word "dichotomy") and a LOT of vintage slimings. (Plus chocolate face dunks!)
All 8 clips now remastered in MP4 format, both edited and RAW, in both the UMD and Vidown stores for purchase or streaming!
Well, the water gag started with SS04, so.... There's only 3 volumes out of 302 that are "pre water gag."
That said, I'm pretty sure that Scenes 2 & 3 from SS82 don't have water. (Interestingly, the worst sellers.) Scenes 1 & 5 have a single watering in the middle. https://slapstickstuff.com/SS82.htm
SS88 has water at the end... Because it's outside. And I wasn't gonna have the models destroy my flooring by walking through my house fully messy, hence they got washed up before entering. But you should be good through the meat of the scenes. https://slapstickstuff.com/SS88.htm

I don't mind the washing after the scene, that's totally understandable. I'm just not into like full bucket of water cleaning in the middle of the scene right when a scene is starting to get really messy. It's just not my thing, I feel like that's more for the wetlook community.
As I've told people before, pretend it's a 3-minute video from another producer and simply stop the video after the first 10 pies.... Before any water happens at all. You're still getting more than your money's worth!

That type of thing doesn't work for me lol. It's just personal preference. I like really extremely messy scenes. I just feel like water defeats the purpose of a messy scene, because it's literal cleaning. I totally get if it's towards the end of a scene or something to help cleanup, but why not make the messiest scene possible before that? Again, it's just my personal preference, I get it's impossible to please everyone, etc.

Yep, that's literally been the ONLY guiding philosophy of the WAM community for decades.... As every producer already knows.
I do envy the guys in fetishes where the scenes are ridiculously easy to produce, the standard cost is $40-60 a scene, and customers gladly pay that. I mean, you're complaining that a $3 scene has a watering in the middle that breaks up the 20 pies. (And not all of the scenes, just a couple.) I hate to be the one to tell you that the standard now is $9 for a single sliming or pieing, shot vertically on a phone by a model in a shower with bad lighting....

I can't help that I'm just not into that. I'm not knocking those who are into the wetlook thing, it's just not for me. On a side note, just looking at the top sellers in the umd store, I don't think that single pie or sliming is the standard yet.
Fortunately there's literally hundreds of clips of mine without water! So that's good.
And again, I'm baffled that someone would think, "Like this model, like these pies, and you can't beat $3.... Oops, she gets a little wet halfway through. NO SALE." But we're also living in the era where everyone wants every scene to their VERY specific standards.... Which is fine if you have $400 to give to an OF model (who might not get it exactly right anyway), but when you're paying 1/100th that price, you have to expect that not everything is gonna be 100% to your standards.
When I stop producing for good (sooner rather than later, given the current climate), I've joked that I'm just gonna chop all my 30-min scenes into 3-4 minute "chunks" and sell them at full price for super-picky customers. Want just the first few pies? Here ya go! Want just the cakes? Here ya go! Hate water? Now the scene ends early, just for you!

I didn't realize things were so bad! Very sorry to hear that.
Also, I don't think the person was saying he wouldn't buy it necessarily, just that they would have preferred no water.

Perhaps I should clarify, so back in the day I actually bought like 40ish of your first 60 or so volumes. Literally, I purchased more scenes from you than any other producer at the time. A little squirt or splash of water didn't bother me. When you changed your style and started to doing hardcore buckets of water, etc. in scenes, it wasn't my thing.
I'm sorry you're baffled, but not everyone is gonna like the same thing. For example, I remember when you did a survey to find why sales were low on certain scenes and discovered majority of people didn't like scenes with wigs and later top hats. Maybe it'll help clarify if I explain what goes on in my mind while watching. Personally, I like seeing models get extremely covered in mess. So for me while watching a scene, seeing a really thick mess build up on the model, I'm thinking, "Now this is getting really good" Now the water comes in, the model is barely messy at all and it feels like the scene completely reset and I wonder "why would you stop it at the best part?"
Again, like I said it just my personal preference. I get everyone has their own thing and the best part for me, might not be the best part for someone else.
I'm not on UMD much these days, especially not posting much, but glad to see this one come back as a remaster! Love Paula's energy and enthusiasm and killer look. The two-girl volume wasn't really on my radar at the time, but hopefully it's getting a well-deserved second life, Rich!
