Here's another underrated mud scene that recently surfaced in HD (albeit only 720p and still from a pretty faded & battered film element).
This was never one of my all-time favorites -- too many cutaways, and that mud is too peaty for it to be in the pantheon -- but it's long and I love how that cute little redhead immediately gets destroyed and then stays covered for the whole scene.
That guy who complained about the face coverage in RELIC HUNTER should rate this one higher in that department, at least!

This is actually my second favorite mud wrestling movie scene second to ...All the marbles only because the girls didn't get topless in this lol. This is a pretty unknown movie that I discovered by accident years ago and had forgotten about until last night when I saw the shorter woman in another film that reminded me of this scene, and as I stated in the previous post I went looking everywhere for it and couldn't find a trace of this movie or scene anywhere. Thanks again. It does also loose points for the ridiculous amount of cutaways plus I'm not a fan of male WAM so the guys getting involved in the end kind of messed it up for me.

SIDEWALKS is a good one. Real wrestlers, nice red mud, topless. The DVD is perfectly adequate but I'd love to get a Blu-ray release (and given how much '80s Eurosleaze has come out, it seems like it could happen).
MUGSY'S GIRLS cops out in a lot of ways (Laura Branigan doesn't get anywhere near that mud!) but an HD upgrade would add a rewarding layer of detail, I bet.
ALL THE MARBLES is probably less than meets the eye (super watery mud) but I revisit it a lot. Just iconic '80s ladies and a kinky humiliation backstory, too. Long story, but I just missed meeting Laurene Landon last year; would've been fun to ask her about this one.
None of the scenes I listed has the right type of mud IMO (I still enjoy them). It seems that the movies can never get that right. My perfect mud pit and mud type runner up is currently used at GLAM Wrestling and Mudmatches.com (I prefer GLAMS clay mud). My all time number 1 mud pit as far as size of the pit, mud type, thickness, and depth is hands down Allwam .net. The coverage those girls get is perfect to the point you have no idea who's who which is IMO EXACTLY how it should be. I like the girls aren't scared of the mud. Also the best hands down mud scene from a film as far as ring type, mud type, and mud pit depth is from the documentary This is America. I didn't put it on my list because it was a documentary. If ANYONE can find the full length matches from that Doc. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post it. There's been copies floating around of longer versions of the bouts online but the quality is unfortunately dreadful, so bad that you can barely see because the picture tent is so bright everything is white. Is their even a decent quality full version available? I'd also like to shout out Messygirl.com. The three mud matches they did in particular Amy vs Vika were almost perfect! Too bad they don't put on more matches, because honestly Vika vs Amy is literally my favorite mud match EVER!
I like all of those except that the mud/clay gets a big markdown for being gray. It just doesn't look enough like natural outdoor mud (and if you do live someplace weird where the soil actually is grayish-white, I don't want to hear about it). You can easily buy dark brown or reddish-brown clay but it's generally a bit more expensive, so therefore you get some producers who never vary from it. (Props to Mudmatches and the Moomins for going brown.)
There are two cuts of the JABBERWALK / THIS IS AMERICA mud scene, right? One of them is in the movie as released on VHS and the other seemed to be sourced from 8mm, although I'm not really clear on its original provenance. I have a decent copy of the former and an at least wankable copy of the latter, via one of Wamtec's cliptapes. Not sure they'll survive Youtube but I'll give it a try sometime soon.
You're correct on their being two versions. The clear but short version is from the documentary and the longer cut I'm assuming from the quality has to be from an 8mm. Go ahead and work your magic Regis and let it be known you've made my Christmas list this year There are 3 mud wrestling clips I consider "the holy grail" of wam clips One is a decent copy of the full mud wrestling matches from This is America the second being the WCCW Missy Hyatt vs Sunshine mud match and the third is the Mildred Burke and Leona Gordon Mud Wrestling match.
You know, speaking of 8mm, one holy grail that I'd kill to see remastered is that set of four 8mm loops of some '70s Mildred Burke wrestlers (Laura Del Rio, Panama Franco, Jackie West, War Star) in long matches in some really thick, goopy mud. Assuming they originated on 8mm I doubt you could get much more detail out of them, but I'd love to try.
