Are you guys seeing any pies in the face used anymore on recent sitcoms? I feel like the gag has been relegated as outdated. Even here when we discuss good or seminal pie in the face moments we usually reference some show from the 70s.
I've seen a couple pies in the face in isolated incidents over the last few decades, so I think you're right. The most recently-filmed pies I can recall are from 3RD ROCK, where Mary & her co-worker nail Dick w/ about a dozen pies, but unfortunately only 2 in the face, and MOM, where the main character (whose name I don't recall) pied her boss. He commented after how good the pie tasted.

Late 60's to early 80's was the pie heyday. A fair percentage of sitcoms featured a pie in the face scene I think going through the Cheers scene. Then, yes, it completely died off.
