All too often I fall back on shaving cream because of the simplicity (easy to prepare and transport, easy to wash off, no smell or residue) but the results often aren't all that satisfactory - I'm looking for something stickier, like the pies in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZi1oAvRz80
I've used whipped cream with custard underneath before too, which is good (the custard adds a great sloppy effect), but what's best for making a really nasty, sticky pie? And what have people used for coloring? The problem with food coloring is it stains...
If you look up Bboy1900 on YouTube. My entire pie is made up of powder pudding mixed with water until thickened to wanted consistency. I use tub whipped cream mixed with powder jello mix for color. Tub cream works better than can. Can whipped cream melts really fast and because can cream is dairy, you and the room smells like spoiled milk. When I plate my pie I use styrofoam (paper gets soggy) put a layer of pudding, layer of cream, then drizzle Sunday syrup over the top. If you want a crust look just put a layer of crushed graham crackers on the bottom. It's a easy and cheap way to make lots of pies.
I'd love to test real pies made to a genuine cookery recipe. But as we don't get that type of pie over here, can anyone recommend the stickiest brand to look for in the imported goods shops or a genuine cookery recipe ?
For heavy, sticky gunge I've always loved the feeling of flour and water mix. The obviously the downside with that is the awful clean up but there is a way around this. If you mix some cooking oil into the flour before adding the water, the mixture retains the same consistency but doesn't cling to any and every hair that it comes across! To clean up, just wash off with soap and water. I was very surprised when I tried this and am looking forward to a session where this will be used for full body coverage.
