Hi everyone, gonna have a little messy fun with my girlfriend and a few pies later and was wondering if you guys have any good games that we can play. I know a common one is just asking questions and getting one wrong means you get pied but I wanted to know if there are any other good ideas out there.
I've heard of a variation with the card one where you alternate back and forth until someone gets it right and every wrong answer is +1 pie until it goes boom and all the pies built up get unleashed on the other person when you get it right
Play a game of battleships - every time she scores a hit and/or sinks one of your ships you get a pie. Can work the opposite way too if she's down for getting messy. (If she's more hesitant you can also make the stakes unequal - e.g every time she sinks one of your ships you get a pie, but you have to sink all her ships before you get to pie her).
Our best game. Make slips of paper with body parts you'd enjoy hitting. Then pull them out of a jar and whoever's turn it is gets smooshed there. Make one slip with "sit on it."
A variation we've played. Have something more than pie, like Nutella, peanut butter. Now you'll need two jars. So you might pull out Nutella and face, and that's where it gets smeared.
Wife indulged me with some pie fun once. She was very much a "whatever you want to do" mindset, so I set up solo cups like a beer pong board on our kitchen table. Our names written on the bottom, 5 with my name and 5 with her. I had only her throw at the cups, and when she made one whoever's name was on the bottom got pied. We had 8 pies, so we were both getting messy for sure. But it could have ended up 4-4 or 5-3 in either of our favors. And the order was pretty much random. It was lots of fun. Did in fact end up 4-4, and I don't remember the exact order but I know for sure I took the first two and her the last one. Hoping we can have round 2 soon!
A nice easy game is Scissors - Paper - Stone. Each time you play, winner gets to pie loser.
Just in case one of you turns out to be really good, or bad, at it, have a rule that if one person wins three in a row, next turn the other person automatically loses no matter the result.
Another simple game to play is to simply draw cards - high card wins. Throw in some additional forfeits/rewards if you draw a face card if you want some extra jeopardy
On the trivia front, I see it in one of four ways:
1. Incorrect answer = you get pied. This is a good one either to be a bit more competitive or if you have a willing target and you both want to be a bit wacky and throw the game, IE: "Where is the Eiffel Tower located?" "Michigan!" (Splat!)
2. Correct answer = you pie your partner. This becomes a bit more competitive, a la some suggestions above like Battleship
3. Correct answer = you get pied. This keeps things more competitive if you want, too, but is more about self humiliation than your partner's
4. Slapstickstuff-style "That's Unfair" game. These are impossible questions in a rigged game. So, a question might be, "What pie filling is under this cool whip?" Someone guesses, that person gets the pie in the face regardless (because you can't know until you've been pied) and the game progresses: "Sorry, the correct answer was chocolate!" or "It WAS strawberry! Great guess!"
One element we've played with has been a 'message' written on the underside of the pie plate, only revealed when one of us gets it in a tit for tat start. Examples include 'Give x 3' (the victim gets hit again), 'Receive x 2' (the giver gets hit a few times) etc.
