Utterly ridiculous notion and ludicrously expensive, but I just opened some cream cheese made by the French Manufacturer 'President' called 'Creme de Brie', it comes in tiny 125g tubs but would make a fantastic custard pie in quantity.
You put your knife in and it's all gloopy and runs off in threads, it would look wonderful pushed in the face. It's also fabulously sticky.
Downsides; cost - you'd need twenty tubs for one pie; and it's Brie so it stinks!
What out of the ordinary substances have you discovered that would make a perfect custard pie?
Personally, i will avoid using Cream, particularly whipped cream in wam. It really smells horrible even after multiple showers. You will smell it for days.

Do you ever use a dish soap on your body after cleanup? I use Dawn almost always after every session and it's maybe a 24-hour hour smell issue, if even. Really recommend this.
Not huge fan of cream to eat never mind wear! By the way, I think the British equivalent of 'Dawn' is 'Fairy Liquid' both I think are Proctor & Gamble products. Thanks for the tip I hadn't considered that the smell would hang that long.. eek!
I am new to experimenting and don't really like the look of translucent gunge. I prefer dessert style stuff. To me it's all about consistency, some thick some runny, gloopy with threads, I think a mixture of consistencies and colour is the best for a pie to the face. So far I have tried shaving foam which is a bit static, yogurt works well with shaving foam, custard which is nice and slick and yesterday I tried whisking some plain flour with an egg and water, super messy and sticky and not easy to wash out of your haIr either. It's fun finding out!
Just leaving a comment here because I want to know some other pie substances. I really don't like the sound of Brie as a pie substance because I hate cheese but i like some of the other stuff suggested in her
One of my pie friends has suggested marshmallow fluff as a pie substance. I haven't used it yet but he claims that it makes for good coverage, it doesn't stink and it's pretty easy to clean up. Once I try it for myself, I will report back
If you use anything besides custard, it stops being a custard pie.
Very true, if your being a custard pie purist!
Maybe I should have just called it a 'slapstick pie'? Custard on its own doesn't necessarily make the best pie for throwing in someone's face, manufactured custard can vary, but is often fairly runny.
My point was for the best coverage and comedy effect, what is the best ingredient? In the U.K. many circus clowns never used custard, most used stick shaving soap grated and mixed with water. I see in the USA many use real manufactured pies, which are simply not sold in the U.K, so we improvise.
I think everyone has their favourite..
Never tried Marshmallow fluff, but I have seen videos of guys that have and it does look very sticky, but doesn't look easy to clean off. I would like to try it, maybe get my haircut first!
