The first requirement is that you be local. With weather and tide variability, I cannot work with someone who has to travel a long distance.
The next requirement is that you be in pretty decent physical condition.
You should also be available to go out for about 4 hours, during the day, at least a couple days a week. Otherwise, we'll never be able to coordinate our schedules with other conditions and actually get anything shot.
You can be male or female or other. If you're going to appear on camera, you'll have to be willing to sign a release, etc.
Being an avid outdoors person who isn't afraid of swampy environments is a huge plus. Otherwise, you'll be terrified to go out with me. Having said that, I've taken lots of female models into the swamp and they've done alright, for the most part.
If you're a serious videographer and you want to make a few extra dollars shooting in extreme conditions, you don't need to appear in any videos.
In a nutshell, I'm looking for some reliable help to take my videos to the next level. If you want to know what I do, just check out my profile here, and my blog on mudlover.com ( mudlover.com/theswamp/ ).
Just to reiterate, you must be local to the Jacksonville, NC area. If you're a super mud/bondage enthusiast and you're looking to relocate, maybe we can talk, but you CANNOT travel more than an hour to shoot, because shoots get cancelled for weather and we can only shoot for a couple hours each day. Sometimes I don't get a chance to shoot for over a week.
You're not going to get rich on this gig, but it does involve money. Thank you, for your interest.
@okay156 That's the story of my life. Living in the swamp is good for swamping, but most people live somewhere else. You have a cute wife. Best wishes to the two of you.
@okay156 Every trip into the swamp is a mini-adventure. It would be easier and more fun with a helper. I could also make videos that are impossible for me to make, alone. For the right person, it would be both fun and profitable.
If you're ever in the area, don't be shy. If we can't go out to the swamp, we can have a beer in the clay pit.
Having been out in Doug's swamp, I can definitely attest that you need to be in decent shape... you'll be paddling out a good way, then breaking a path many many feet through chest-high swamp grass until you reach the mud. But once you're there, it's sooooo worth it. My profile pic is from my trip up there.
I hope you find someone to help you kick things up, Doug. BTW, how's the clay pit in the yard?

Ha ha! You make it sound even worse than I think it is. The longest paddle is just under 2 miles, one way. For me, that's a very short paddle. The length of the paddle is inversely proportional to the length of the walk. Regarding the clay pit, it's doing fine. I will probably be shooting in it soon. I can generally find some local person to help me shoot in the back yard, because it's far more convenient and less physically demanding. I'm planning a new back yard attraction this year. If it works out, I'm sure there will be pictures on UMD.
Well, I found the perfect person to work with me on mud videos. She was really enthusiastic and had all the right qualifications. Then she decided to move to South Carolina, so I'm resuming my search.
