Loved Rush for ages sooooo Yeah, I guess. Personally, as much as I love their classics, Roll the Bones was the album that pulled me in. Probably one of the most underrated albums in their discography, imo.

Absolutely not! Kidding, not my usual cup of tea, but when I hear Rush on the radio, etc. I enjoy it-- makes me nostalgic for the 1980s listening to AOR in Philadelphia ("That rock-block of Rush goes out to Danny who is working on his Camaro in Upper Darby.").
Went to an open mic night in the 1990s and this Rush cover band came on stage and NAILED Rush, which was pretty impressive but raised an interesting question-- is it more artistic to play Rush almost perfectly or to cover Rush and make it your own?

There seems to be this very debate going on since Rush announced their new touring drummer Anika Nilles (who is freaking phenomenal btw). A lot of debate of whether she should try to honor Pearts kit and playing or not and such and honestly both can be true at once. Neither is the wrong approach but I like to use the chocolate chip cookies analogy.
You have a recipe for chocolate chip cookies. You learn the recipe for chocolate chip cookies. You become so proficient at it, you begin to experiment with the recipe. The question is this: If you alter the recipe too much, is it still chocolate chip cookies?
As a Rush fan since 1980 and having been at 12 of their concerts, what I'll be interested is is whether or not Anika plays the songs note for note like Neil, or makes them her own.

I feel she will. I also feel we can expect Meinl and Tama to create some custom gear just for the tour much like Tama and Paiste did for Charlie and Pantera. The E kit will probably be Roland and percussion will be the same if not similar.

If it's not Rush, it's Tool.
Who the F*** doesn't like TOOL!? When did I miss that debate?
Must be someone who got tired of countless APC remixes between albums lol
But can we like both APC and TOOL? I got introduced to A Perfect Circle by my ex wife. When she told me who the lead singer was I was like "what the f*** is even happening!?"
