And I assume that in the event of a draw, both players take the pies.
I also like the idea of the stakes being raised as the tournament progresses. It introduces more jeopardy for those assigned the better teams, making it fairer for those paired with the minnows.

Well I think the original rules posted by the OP were that the participant whose team won would determine the forfeit for the participant whose team lost. We've already usurped the assignments - should we also be changing the rules? (although I wasn't overly fond of the original rule).
There was nothing in the original rules regarding draws.
Your kinda right, but letting the winner decide would create alot of different foreits and could be harsh on smaller nations. That is assuning they dont drop off the planet and never respond.
Could consider setting a few default forfeits the winner can pick between, if they havent responded before the next game the loser could then use a die.
Could update the forfits after the group stages, or follow the orginal stuff there(or start that at semi finals). And add a forfeit for gettjng knocked out i group stages

I love that idea!! And if it's a draw, each participant could choose his/her own forfeit from the list?

We're all free to present whatever evidence we choose. I usually prefer to show my messy face.
1. Two Cream Pies 2. One can of Shaving Cream 3. One box of Cake Batter 4. Two cartons of Custard 5. Two cartons of Marshmallow Fluff 6. One tub of Cake Frosting
The loser must get messy any way he/she chooses with any two of the above items, as determined by the winner. If the winner does not pick within two days of the match, the loser can throw 2 dice to determine the two messy items.
If there's a draw, each participant chooses one item that he/she must get messy with.

Well then, how about somebody creating a European list for the European losers (that didn't come out right, but you know what I mean).
Marshmallow fluff and packet cake mixtures are available at most UK supermarkets as a quick internet search can confirm. Cake frosting is what we call cake icing and is again widely available. I don't know about continental Europe so I'll have to leave that to someone else.
Personally, I have always found Angel Delight to be a good replacement - relatively cheap and easy to mix in large quantities. Rice pudding, sago and tapioca are also good substitutes. Using a lemon shower gel afterwards gets rid of any lingering smell from milk based products. ( Credit to Candy Custard for that top tip. :thumbsup

It seems there are two excel tables and I am assigned to different teams (Egypt and then Denmark)...... which team am I assigned too?
Sorry, I was trying to be totally transparent regarding how the assignments were made, hence the first and last Excel tables and the random sequence generator. The TEXT in the message has the correct assignments, as does the last Excel table.
