Yeah, I have a couple cosplayer friends I've met in the past couple years and they really have fun with it. A couple of the gals really get into making the props and armor stuff too, they are amazing. I don't know where you are geographically, but Katsucon and Otacon in the DC area are a large draw for US cosplayers. They're just fun cons in general too if you like anime/manga. Katsu will be in February, and I have some friends working it, so I might be there. Hope you get to check one out soon, they are loads of fun.
I suggest MaGfest over Katsucon Katsu has a much MUCH lower average age where as MaG lets you open carry alcohol :3

I know that WAM in cosplay isn't really practical, it's only been in the realm of fantasy for me (so far??). I like to imagine myself as another character getting messy. Deal with that psychologically as you will.
Thank you! Cute outfits and characters aside, I do think the prospect of the character themselves getting messy could be fun as well - if Bambi cosplayed Asuka, for instance, I could make some orange batter/slime and tell her it was for a synch test with a different kind of LCL, and it could be in character and 'canon' in a very strange sense (anybody who doesn't know about Evangelion is probably extremely confused by what I just typed rofl)
Sadly, her and I aren't nearly talented enough to make outfits. We'd rely on the internet for that. Even then, it's a sizable investment that would likely necessitate a separate version of an outfit if we ever wanted to WAM with it. That said - it sounds like fun, and I really wanna do it.
Don't know if its the same but I've done a few genderbend cosplays and have always wanted to do d.va and miraculous ladybug , even in just the normal spandex suits always wanted to do a psylocke aswell
I would love to mix WAM and cosplay, although, like other users on this thread, I'm loath to labor for hours and hours on cosplay and then destroy it.
It seems to me like there's a "sweet spot" -- pun intended -- or point of convergence in the sense that (a) a lot of people, myself included, seem to enjoy mixing WAM with tight-fitting and shiny spandex unitards, wetlook leggings, and the like. There's a lot of that stuff available, it's relatively inexpensive, and (b) it can be used for, shall we say, "casual" cosplay. Obviously, some cosplay is more suited to WAM than other cosplay (IMHO). If someone pies me while I'm wearing a full Cyberman suit or stormtrooper armor or something, that's not going to be particularly rewarding from a WAM perspective. Absurd, yes, but largely devoid of that all-important tingle.

I distinctly remember seeing a fair bit of furry WAM (live shoots, not drawings) a while back outside the forums here, so it's around. Those outfits are hideously expensive, though
If you click through to YouTube, there are more examples from the same people who made those videos.
Not really what I mean, TBH. My interest is more about the costume as a costume that someone wears, not a furry thing. It's more about the fact that someone could be messy, but nobody knows because they're inside a mascot costume. Also, lots of opportunities to discreetly fill it up and go out in public...
And...I hope everyone realizes that the YouTube page linked above features only two full-length videos. The rest of the videos are JUST previews: but all sixteen of the videos can be seen in their entirety by supporting our new Patreon page at the $12 or $25 level. And yes, we're still using funds from the efforts to help family members in need (who are fighting cancer). The link: http://www.Patreon.com/MadLoversCosplay
Love your stuff, but where do I see the 16 videos once I've pledged (at the $15 in my case? Maybe I'm being stupid but all I see is a selection of them in your timeline on the Patreon page?

Glad you were able to get the Belle dress Ariel, I remembered we talked about it in the past. Totally can't wait to see the scene! Your Sailor Moon scene was incredible.
I'd like to set up some more custom scenes soon. Just got a new job so if there's any model with some ideas, let me know!
Also, I second a Lucy from Fairy Tail cosplay!
Yes I will be doing more with the Harley & Ryoko outfits, i just have to get several customs done first but that is on my list

Everyone who joins gets a message from us that encourages them to please read all the correspondence and emails we send them.
One of the emails we send is an explanation of YOUR particular Rewards for YOUR Reward level. In your case, we would've sent an email explaining that we kindly ask you to browse the list of choices and then contact us to let us know which video you want access to. You can send us your choice in a message at the page. Thanks!
Appreciate that this is a charity thing, but I think that your original post is a little misleading. You say that "all sixteen of the videos can be seen in their entirety by supporting our new Patreon page at the $12 or $25 level"
I think you should be a little more explicit by saying that you'd need to support it for 16 months to be able to see all the videos. Honestly, I wouldn't have pledged if I'd realised that were the case, and I've cancelled my membership now.
