On a sad note I had to say goodbye to my muddy spot for another year. I have it marked down so I can find it again in a years time when I shall once again migrate back to my muddy haven. Blub blub, I'm a frog.

Hopefully a week in mud will be enough to fill my mud lust this time. Does anyone else take road trip to satisfy their messy fetish?
Thanks for that. It made me laugh
16 hours and 1000 miles each way is some serious dedication.
Does road trip by bike count? I used to take numerous trips along local rivers. Disappearing under bridges to look for mud banks and wading up streams looking for bends causing mud capture. Good times through long summers.
Makes me disappointed in myself that I still don't. Seems like way to many people wandering around these days. Although youthful bravado must have been a large part of it back in the day.
Enjoy your trip you two and thanks for the pics. I enjoyed vicariously thinking about those spots.

That's fair! I never did get out and explore enough when I lived "up nort'!" but yeah I gotta definitely keep my eyes peeled and get out more. Glad you had fun! I waved northwards hehe

A lot of it is being able to spot a location's raw potential. This was nothing more than moss and water faintly shimmering by the side of the stream when I first found it. First step sunk to my mid shin so we cleared away nettles, moss, and branches and began the 2 hour long process of churning the ground and adding stream water as we needed. You don't find a pit like one. You have to unlock its potential through hard work.
That's dedication! And the universe in here appreciates you for it.
