I have been aware for a few days that Messmaster is in discussion with you.

I acknowledge the hard work that all producers put in.
I have never criticised any producers for not working hard.

I wondered if there were any ideas out there for a better way for old material to be promoted to new users who may be more interested in it than others.
That's what I put in my post. If it wasn't clear then I apologise.

I don't know the answer to your point but I understand your point and why you would want to filter out new stuff from old stuff.
0ur business model from 2006 until I was ill in 2015 was that the old stuff on my website was deleted to make room on the website server for the new stuff.
That was a membership site mainly.
Due to illness the membership understandably dwindled.
I nearly gave up for good (which was my situation and not the customers fault) but as I was getting better with Mike first just helping me survive and then obviously becoming my boyfriend etc he said he'd look at the business as a whole.
So on the plus side we've made more profit than ever before and sold more films overall
but (and he can tell you better) a lot of that was down to cutting costs (so no $200 a month server fee),retrieving every film I ever made and only making new films where the cost was covered by a custom order.
Then every session/customs is priced to reflect the true hours of work as in room prep/materials/cleaning time etc.
Also anybody who was taking advantage of inability to say no when more and more was asked of me for less and less money was given a choice of going away or paying me the new way.
It was a huge learning curve for me and has kept me in the business but for much less hours.
In Mike's research he found so many producers were working very hard with a lot of upfront expense and were losing money.
The 'cost of sale' is SO important-no point releasing brand new films every day with loads of girls and mess in if the cost of making that film doesn't make a huge profit is there?
The only reason for doing that is if it's satisfies that producers fetish.
It's easy to look up peoples accounts and see the huge losses some producers have made.
So yeah I would love to be doing new stuff all week with lots of new girls but it isn't a big enough business to justify our time these days.
Funnily enough Mike just did a deal this morning that made 3.74 times more money (after tax!) than Messy Jessie made in 2017!

It's also really boring and time consuming to retrieve the old films,download them to the UMD store,write a good explanation etc and promote them.
However Mike did make the point that I should be proud of the decade or so of work I've achieved,make sure everything made was available for those who want it and then when it's all out there do some good offers and bundles to make it attractive.
That technique has worked well and you'll be pleased to know there are only about 100 left to get in the store so in a few months there won't be any more of mine to promote!
What then for me?
Well I'll be happy that all my nude/topless stuff will be gone for good in October this year.
My Vintage stuff will just be there in the UMD for people to get if they want it and I'll prob put out a new film or two every month or so from the better customs.
I suppose at some point the UMD could have more sophistication in the forums.
Currently it seems 'Messy' is basically the place to post anything if you want it to be read.
For a producer that means if you want something to sell!

In a perfect world I suppose it would be nice to have a forum where you could have 'pies'/'gunge'/mud/paint etc and a bit that was for brand new content only.
There is a Groups area on UMD including one I posted in for feet but it's a bit of a graveyard.
Maybe the streaming option is a good one because I think you can view films in store in the order the films were put and we can determine memberships by age of film?

Me calling the scenes Vintage was my way of flagging it's older so you could ignore those posts.
I see a LOT of producers are following me now in calling stuff Vintage if it's a fresh to UMD scene but old stock.
The reason for the increase is everything we've said about cost of new films v sales plus piracy so I'm open to any suggestions to make the forum/adverts more interesting for you as a customer.

Was it specifically Jessie's posts the OP was commenting on? I have noticed over the last year or so what seemed to be at least two or three promos for the same segment of one of Rob Blaine's old films. In the early 90s, Rob came to the UK (with a couple of his models?) and shot some scenes in association with some of the original greats of the UK production scene, and one of the scenes that resulted was "For A Few Dollops More", which took the concept of "spaghetti western" rather more literally than any of the Clint Eastwood ones did. Part of that scene was a messy "gunfight" (or was it bunfight) where a gang of girls tries to rob a bank, and everyone gets covered in slop as a result. Definitely seen that promoted more than once, though personally I have no objection, indeed it's good to be reminded of the early days and the astounding work some of the pioneering original producers did.

There have also been occasions where, just as with Jessie's move from her own server to the UMD store, various other producers have brought all their content here, resulting in lots of "what's new" entries for scenes that while older, are new to the UMD. I see this as a good thing as it means as long as the UMD exists that content will be available, instead of vanishing when the producer retires and shuts down their own site.

I don't think so (unless Eric says otherwise!) but I proffered a the explanation of why my unavailable older stuff was available again etc
Just thinking about it Mike,when I was really ill,I think actively asked on here in anyone had my old lost films and then I carried it on and it became like a treasure hunt and got a lot of interest and went to satisfy,and still does satisfy a lot of people inc me.
I think all mine should be on within 6 months but I think you'll see a lot more old stuff from everyone else due to the lack of income from new stuff these days/piracy.
It should also help and support UMD by having more stuff available.

Honestly, it's never bothered me. As mentioned before, old content may be new here, or some producers advertise rolling content on their site. If older stuff is never mentioned how will newer people ever know about it. For instance rolling through MKs catalogue alone could take hours, and that's JUST the stuff he has on here. I actually appreciate it, because there are things that I might want to get when they are "new", but realistically I can't just buy whatever content I want when I want. I need to eat and pay bills too, so I like the reminders. I don't know, that's just my two cents.

This sort of reflects the past feedback I've had but I respect the fact some people would like a way in the future to only view new stuff.

I'd be grateful if ANYONE finds any of my scenes on a pirate site or in fact anywhere other than the UMD to let me know as if it's there it shouldn't be.
