I'm getting pied at work! I'm also responsible for buying the supplies. I'm debating between using crusts or not. It costs slightly more, but using crusts ensures all the cream is deposited on my face. Also I've discovered that whipped cream in a can is around the same price as buying 3 tubs of off brand Cool whip. Which should I go for? I know most use shaving cream for multiple reasons. It's thick, looks nice in photos and videos and it's easy to clean up, but I want to be pied by the real stuff. Also, how many pies should I buy? Most will say the more the merrier, but since this is for work I don't want it to be weird. I was thinking around 6? Comment your thoughts.
What's the setup for being pied at work? Are you a manager whose team will get payback? Have fun anyway. I'd go for something thick like Cool Whip on a Graham Cracker crust myself, since good cheap pies are hard to find now.

I second this. Please tell us a little more about the circumstances. I love the idea of getting pied at work, but I doubt it'll ever happen for me. My manager is a bit square, bless him. That and if there ever was such an event it would probably be best if I recused myself.
Personally I tend to avoid anything dairy based because the lingering smell after can be difficult to wash out. Also use crusts or cake tins over flat paper plates as you'll get much better coverage. Have fun.
The tubs of cool whip will hold up longer. Can whipped cream breaks down really quick. If you've ever seen someone hit with an almost liquid pie; that's can whipped cream. I use crust, pudding mixed with water to the thickness I want, and tub whipped cream on top. It costs me about $5 a pie. But my pies are big and messy. You can see the impact on my page.
Every year the company I work for raises money for Lymphoma research and each employee is asked to come up with a fundraising idea. Last year I asked around and many people from the other branches said they do a coin drive with the person who receives the most coins receives a pie in the face. You didn't have to tell me twice! So we had a coin drive and I of course won. While the other branches went ahead and did their pie in the face for their employees, I held off till the end of the month because I was going to do mine of April Fool's Day. Well COVID happened and the event was cancelled.
Sadly, my company announced on January first they would be closing their doors for good. But, my coworkers remembered I was never pied so on our last day during our party, they want to take turns pieing me in the face for a good laugh.
Good luck to you getting pied at work and the bonus it was for a good cause. we had a pie the team member vote at my work a few years ago for Macmillan cancer, I was nominated but didn't get voted to be pied. hopefully you'll have some pics to show us on here .
Really sorry to hear about the company you worked for. I hope a better opportunity comes along real soon. Have a brilliant time at the party. Pull out all the stops and get as messy as possible. Let your colleagues have fun with it.
I'll go with PIEtheCLOWN. He's a pro. Clean up needs to be a consideration so shaving cream is the way to go. I have thinned it with water to make it splatter and drip better, but then you have more clean up issues. Check out his pics and you'll see how great his pie hits look.
