The promo poster for the book shows a woman being pied. Has anyone read it? It's based on a true story. What's the subtext? Is there lost footage somewhere?

I have not heard of this pie scene before, but then again I had never heard of the backstage Ferris Bueller pie in the face photos with Mia Sara until a pie fan sent me the pics, so there is a lot of unknown pie scenes still undiscovered,,,,,,
No pie in the face to any of the main or named characters in the book, nor does it really describe anything specific in terms of hits, etc
The book describes a large scale pie fight on the quad. Spicoli wants to sneak up and hit Mr Hand (who isn't in the fight but is nearby) but Spicoli's plan is ruined by the general chaos of the event, some other loudness or hullabaloo diverts Mr Hand's attention and Spicoli loses his opportunity, and Mr Hand stays clean
Sadly, even if this had been filmed (and even if true to the book in terms of targets, there could've been some potential with establishing shots and extras getting pied), I think it would have surfaced by now. Because of all the content cuts for the (original 80s) TV version, they put a lot of deleted scenes in it to fill out time from all the cuts, so I would imagine it would have shown up there
For the record, Phoebe Cates and Jennifer Jason Leigh were both 18 at the time of filming, as I understand principal photography began in Nov. 1981

Here are the Mia Sara pics, there may be better quality versions out there (I took my own screen caps and posted them here at the time but they're not on my current HD) but this is what was readily available via google
these were 4 stills used as part of a Ferris Bueller mini-documentary that aired on A&E I think about 8-10 years ago (hence the screen grabs). It may have been Inside Story: Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but not 100% sure. they pied her as celebrating the last day of filming or something (was not a scene intended for the movie, and no video of it has surfaced to my knowledge)
For the record, Mia Sara was 18 at the time shooting began on Ferris, which was September 9, 1985
