At an outdoor birthday party, Mandy (Lisa Riley) starts a fight with Nicola (Nicola Wheeler). They splash water on each other until Mandy pushes Nicola's face into a blue birthday cake. Nicola then shoves Mandy's face in a pink cake in return and the two have a brief food fight before they move their fight in an inflatable bouncy castle.

Exactly.

From all the ways of how a person can be humiliated, this (i.e. WaM in general) is probably the least damaging and the most superficial.

I wonder what the actresses thought when they read that script! It would be massive fun to do that I think!

Me mam read about it in the paper and they said it was loads of fun apparently cos it was their first bit of contact acting after the pandemic so they apparently had a well good time filming (as I expect most slapstick scenes are to film so long at they don't take 3 weeks or whatnot)

Generally the coverage in messy soap scenes could be a lot better but I always enjoy the staging of them and they usually have a rivalry/comeuppance edge that adds to it even further. I've ended up with a few favourite soap scenes for that reason!
