Because apparently it doesn't tell you when you're out of room. It just starts deleting stuff to make more room. There's no way of knowing just how much I've lost, but I know for sure I had a folder with probably 90% of Naomi K's stuff and it's all gone now.
Whenever you think your hard drive is getting full, buy an external hard drive for $59.95(they're also called backup hard drives). You can get 200GB of storage for $59.95(& you can get almost 500 GB for $79.95).
This isn't too say there's not something weird going on in your case, but Google Drive certainly shouldn't delete anything without your input. If you run out of storage it will just notify you and not let you save anything.
Here's what Google has to say:
"What if I run out of space? If you run out of space, you won't be able to store new things. For example:
Google Drive: You won't be able to sync or upload new files, and syncing between your Google Drive folder and My Drive will stop. You'll still be able to create Google documents because they don't take up any storage space.
Google Photos: You'll only be able to upload new photos and videos stored at High quality.
Gmail: Messages people send to you will be returned to them."
Drive Space isn't an issue for me, as because i do a lot of reviews on Google Maps, and for reaching Maps Reviewer / Local Guide level 4, Google gave me 1TB of drive space for free.
I use Google drive to stores gigs and gigs of adult videos. For me, it warns me when I'm approaching my limit. I'm paying $2 per month for 100 gigs. That's plenty since I only use Drive for vids I like to watch.
Unlike most other storage sites, I love the fact that I can just click and watch a video from any device - instead of having to download it or pull out an external drive every time I want to watch a particular video.
Google "was" going to delete anything adult related, but quickly backed off that statement.
Also, as stated by others, they never delete anything. When you reach your limit, you simply cannot upload or share any more vids.
Maybe it's not google, but i don't know what's up.
I know it's not someone using my computer and deleting stuff, because I live alone and set the alarm everytime I leave the house. It's possible someone got my password somewhere and is using it to mess with me.
I had an external harddrive, but it's about 10 years old. I had moved all of my WAM over to Google Drive just in case the external hdd was about to go. I've bumped up my Drive to 1TB, changed my password, and logged out of it, so hopefully this will help.
I have a couple of Google accounts (as well as dropbox) that I use to keep my Wam collection, and I've experienced this issue in the past. Don't ask me why. I've also on a couple of occasions known Google Drive to corrupt EVERY video I have in the folder.
You could keep a hard-drive backup, or be like me and say "ahh well", then start collecting again. Keeps things fresh.

Seriously. Do this. Very easy to use and well worth the money. Especially if anything happens to your computer.
I learned a hard lesson about a decade ago with streamload. When the place you are storing your data decides to do an upgrade and didn't back up their data. I lost almost 45 TB of stuff. Since then I refuse to use anything online. I have many Buffalo NAS units. You can get a good diskless for 80 bucks or so and then it isin't too much for a couple of WD red drives. I think I paid around 300 last time I bought a new one. I always use RAID 1 on my stuff. I had a external drive filled with Wii games start not reading. Lost everything then too. Last time I will lose anything important.

Far better than online storage, all things considered.
Agreed, except that I don't have a great offsite storage option. I mean, I have all my non-wam stuff on a flash drive at work, but I don't really want to keep a hard drive full of porn in my desk drawer. And it seems a bit silly to rent a safe deposit box, again, just for a hard drive full of porn.

You're going to think I'm joking here but.....
Get a waterproof box and bury your external hard drive in a hole in the ground. It's free, anonymous, long-term, and difficult for someone to randomly happen upon.
Or just upload everything to YouTube. That's what I do. You can make it all private if you don't want anyone to see.
Good idea, but I don't own any ground! I guess keeping a hard drive in a fireproof box is the urban equivalent of which I should avail myself.
Definitely not putting anything on Youtube. For one thing, my employer uses Gmail, and it's already a pain keeping my own Google data walled off from theirs, even without fetish porn in the equation.
Any data or content you care about needs to be stored in three places:
1. On the local hard drive of your computer or laptop - after all you want to be able to watch it.
2. On a removable storage device that is only ever connected for updates and lives off-site - keep it at work, or at a trusted mate's house, or in a storage unit. This is your backup against corrupted files and ransomware. Because it's not usually connected to your computer, it won't be affected by anything that tries to mess with your files. If you've nowhere else to store it, keep it in a very well padded bag in a box in the boot (trunk) of your car.
3. In the cloud. Personally I recommend BackBlaze as they'll back up your entire computer for $5 a month, but other options like drop-box or Google Drive are available. This is your backup against a house fire.
Note this is especially true for WAM material. 20 years from now, if you lose your box sets of Star Trek or Game Of Thrones, you'll be able to just buy replacements. Chances are that 20 years from now most current WAM producers will have long since retired or died, and unless they've made wills and arrangements for their legacies to include keeping content available through the UMD or another independent content distributor, their content and stores will have gone with them.
Back up your data people, this absolutely cannot be said often or loud enough.
I purge my collection constantly. I don't need a zillion gigs of videos I don't watch. I started this a few years ago - ditching the "meh" vids from my collection that I simply won't watch again.
Basically, if it's no longer "jerk-able" it's deleted. That keeps my collection nice and manageable, only stuff that still actually turns me on.
My prized collection, since I want to watch it often, is simply on my hard drive - hidden in subfolder into subfolder into subfolder. Basically, if you don't know where it is, you'd spend days in a folder maze of frustration.

Someone who knew they were looking for video files, and knew how to search, could find all of your movies in under 30 seconds. I know I could. Then again, anyone who wants to could find my mudlover.com web-site by searching the domain registry, but nobody gives a shit. The only thing you should need to worry about someone finding is illegal content.

If you have the kind of spouse who is actively looking to "catch" you looking at porn, you're screwed.
I only hide my collection in a number of subfolders just in case for some odd reason, she has to hop on my computer to do something.
I'm also lucky that I have the kind of wife who thinks Chome is something you put on tailpipes.

The problem with that for me would be that sometimes I'll go off a scene for a while but then get back into it again a few years later, so it makes more sense to keep everything. But either way you still want a backup, else what happens when the computer's hard disk fails? They all will, eventually, nothing lasts forever, and if it happens before you've upgraded, you lose everything on the disk.

Agreed - but bear in mind that Google Drive or Dropbox or similar are sync options, not true backup. If the only copy you have is in the folder shared with Dropbox, you can be out of luck.
I had an email from Dropbox last year apologising for losing 25% of my files in a botched upgrade, and offering me a year free on the 1TB tier as compensation. Since that data was synced it was deleted everywhere before I (or they) knew it had happened. Fortunately I had a real backup of the data elsewhere, but otherwise it'd just be gone. Good luck getting anything more than the fee you paid to them back, if you read the Ts&Cs you'll find you signed away any liability...
Better to use something like Crashplan, my personal favourite, which lets you keep backups offsite, onsite or at a friend's house for free (or in the cloud if you pay) - encrypted and with version control.

You do know that you can use a different gmail account that you invent under a name you invent and keep your stuff on a youtube like place if you choose. It is OK to have things separate from work.
