Anyone got recipes for slick looking homemade tv style gunge that won't clog the drains or smell like a rubbish tip for days after? Share the wisdom boys
The cheapest wallpaper paste you can buy. 99p should do it. One bottle of kids poster paint, again 99p or less.
Just don't get it in your gob or roll around in it too long as it's got chemicals in it.
I use it for thick, quick gungings where it's just me and want it to look good. The purple gunge picture where I'm wearing a singlet is wallpaper paste.
assuming you are in UK, somewhere like Poundland good place to shop for wallpaper paste, as said you can make the thickness you desire, also food colouring not bad for the colouring of it, available quite cheaply at any supermarket
I'd avoid the food colouring as that can stain the skin, but another +1 for the wallpaper paste, but don't hang around with it though. Depending on what you use, I would suggest putting Mr Muscle drain cleaner down the drain as part of the cleanup, as the last thing you want to do is explain to the plumber how you blocked your drain...
Yup. You can't beat paste on cost for quantity and quantity. Feels lovely and squelchy. Looks great. Costs a quid at Poundland, which essentially makes a bucket of nice creamy slop. Here's a pic of me in (MattUK's tank!) getting a massive pasting!
I used a mixture of cornflour, water and food colouring. Using the Get Your Own mixing method, it starts of with water and food colouring first, then gradually add cornflour until thick and gloopy. Use a hand mixer or hand blender, so that you don't end up with bits of drying flour on you, if you do it's very easy to clean off, just scrub with a dry towel. The food colouring in the oose won't stain either. Just a little heads up, GYOB didn't actually use cornflour but xanthan gum, however because I wanted to keep it cheap, I found out on most recipe sites that cornflour is an alternative to xanthan gum. Food colouring, a bucket, you'll need about 4 or 5 small bottles. Happy Gunging!!
