I remember reading that one of the fastest growing car brands in China was volvo. But I suppose now with the explosion of Chinese domestic brands and them starting to reach foreign shores it was inevitable they'd want to take possession of something that was gaining market share in their country. Similar to tata buying range rover.
Dodge is going fully electric Ford doesn't make "cars" in the US other than the Mustang and Mach-E anymore "Cash for Clunkers" federal initiative got most of the affordable cars in the US off the roads and destroyed, so now your options are like a 2012 Toyota Corolla with 193,000 miles on it for $16,000.
Meanwhile all the new cars have so many sensors and components in them that if a plow truck clips your mirror, replacing it and the proximity sensors etc. Will now cost you like $1500, instead of grabbing off off a junked car in the yard for $20-50.
There are already cars out there that you need to "log into". Soon, there will be monthly rental fees from the manufacturer on top of the double digit auto loans you own and they can turn your car off and/or route it to a local police station etc. if you miss one.
Oh, and then there's the 50 years mortgages we're getting. What a time to be alive.
