I'm an avid wammer and I absolutely love getting messy in full on WAM sessions. I just secured my own place by myself and my girlfriend and I love incorporating WAM into our sex games. However, every time we try and really get the most out of our WAM sessions the biggest problem we find ourselves having is walking around on the plastic drop cloths we have been putting on the floor. It doesn't matter if we go barefoot or use comfortable footwear like crocs or sandals because our feet still wind up sticking to the drop cloths to the point that it pulls the cloths up with our feet and pulls them out of place. Does anyone have any advice for how to alleviate this issue? Thanks for your help everyone!
For the floor, get a roll of the heavy duty plastic that builders use as damp proof courses or temporary windows. Much tougher than the flimsy stuff they sell as dust sheets, and will stay on the floor. You're also less likely to tear or puncture it.
Discovered my fuzzy cat paw socks (don't judge me!) stick less than bare feet and cos they are loose and baggy it's easy to pull them over gungey feet...
Maybe cut up a car floor rubber mat into foot sized pieces and keep a pile by bed for 'stepping stones'?
Don't you pull the plastic drop cloths taut and tape them down to the floor (or furniture) with packing / shipping tape? Also, are you using a very thin drop cloth? The thicker the better and the less likely it is to cling to your feet and get pulled out of adjustment. I've never really had the problem you describe

Make sure you use a thicker plastic sheet, and tape it too the floor with some tension, and wear socks until you start your messy session. Also I put down a cheap flat sheet over the top of it and then rinse it in the shower, followed by the washer with bleach. May take a couple washes(or more) to get any smells out. but helps with slipping on the plastic when it gets messy, but you can reuse it over and over. I tend to try to keep the mess centered in the room and then the plastic tarp will act as bag, which then gets put into a contractor bag, and tossed out.
What I started using (at RobbyWLP's suggestion) was shower curtain liners. They are cheap and keep everything clean. I mean obviously they are water proof.

'Damp proof membrane' (if you're searching) as above, or 'Roll and Stroll' self-adhesive carpet protector. There is also a corrugated plastic sheeting available from builders' merchants (Correx, T bord etc.) which is also not heavy. My shoots always involve high heels/stilettos so this additional protection against piercing is necessary.
My WAM studio 'stages' have been made from heavy duty flooring vinyl folded up at the corners and sealed with silicone to form a shallow pool PLUS carpet/floor protection beneath.
Adding one more ringing endorsement of heavier-weight shower curtain liners for tarping.
They contain mess beautifully, are puncture-resistant and easy to manage, and can be washed in a washing machine and reused for as long as you want.
The heavier weight plastic won't stick to you and pull up, but it does get pretty slippery. Like others have said, for maximum anti-slip properties throw a mess-dedicated bedsheet over them, then chuck it all in the wash when you're done. Or fold 'em up and stuff 'em in a garbage bag for the easiest mess cleanup you'll ever have.
The sheet also helps keep them in place if you don't feel like taping everything down. And if you need to tarp off a large area, like a King-size bed, just use several and overlap them.
As other have mentioned, just use socks. I do it myself when I'm on set with models, for that exact reason.
The models don't usually wear socks for aesthetic reasons. (You can see their feet, so they're usually bare or in heels, cuz people have different tastes). But I've found that they can just get their feet wet and that prevents sticking too.
For a messy session, I feel like socks plus securing the dropcloths would be the best bet.
Generally, once we go to the ground we're not getting up until we're done. So for us, we keep a couple of wet and dry hand towels to clean our feet before the awkward walk to the shower.
Haha this is such a wam problem for real! I hate plastic for this reason! Like a lot of other suggestions, I find using the thicker plastic with painters tape is best for the floor Good luck!
Wow, I honestly didn't think that I would get such a response let alone replies from certified WAM legends like all of you! You all have given me such great advice that I plan on following. To those of you who suggested the sock method, at one point I considered it but after going bare foot and wearing crocs I thought the end result would be the same. Also, I kind of talked myself out of it because I thought wam in socks would be akin to socks getting wet and that's always been near the top of my cringe list lol.
Next time I have a wam session I plan on using the sock method as well as going with one of your tarp suggestions over those thin, clingy ass plastic drop cloths I've been using all these years.
