I made a plan to visit my last mud spot in the river, got all prepped and eagerly drove down there, walked the mile to reach it.. no mud!! The river is way too high and the mud spit is under at least 6 feet of river. Gutted!!
Is there anyone in wilts/glos/berks border area or within an hour drive of SN postcode that has a mud hole they would like to timeshare?

Never done river mud as could never find any on the occasions I have looked Is there a certain time of year when the water is lower than normal or is it just pure luck Would love to find some in Essex if anyone knows of any locations that become exposed

Closest i think you would get to River Mud is probably the mud exposed at low tide on the various creeks and tidal rivers in Essex like Benfleet Creek or Barling Creek, only problem is you would have to watch the tide times carefully, best timing is around 4 hours before high tide which gives you time to get messy and then have a good wash off as the tide comes in. I am only guessing but would imagine a non tidal river with mud exposed as it dries up a bit would also cause the mud to dry as well

I thought Essex would be great for river mud. You certainly have some great quarries I'd love to go in one day!
