"I just don't feel comfortable traveling all that way to do this" is the official reason.
Which is, you know, a perfectly respectable reason... But ONLY early on... Not THREE MONTHS LATER, after I've already booked the flight and hotel and taken three days out of my schedule for her trip/shoot.
Just an observation on my end, so please don't take this the wrong way. Did you explain to her that what she signed up for is a fetish? Your work is linked up to all other wam producers work throughout the internet. So if you didn't tell her, and she did some googling on the subject matter, then it's likely she will see the full range of wam. This is why we send potential models a link to our sites, and tell them this is it, take it or leave it. Many have said thanks, but no thanks. We find this to be a fool proof way to eliminate the ones who could potentially cancel. Just some friendly advice from one producer to another.

And yeah, that might be part of it (although I don't think so in this particular case)....
I will send potential models examples of my work and links to my site, so they know what to expect. And I feel like that's fair and accurate.... In fact, I'll usually try to set limits on wardrobe beforehand as well, because of my recent material. Like, "Some of my models wear skimpy bikinis, but if you DON'T feel comfortable doing that, it's OK. It's not required. I have models who wear G-strings and models who don't show midriff and all points in between."
BUT if a model broadens her search to, say, ALL types of WAM... or the UMD.... She's gonna see the deep end of the pool right away, including lots of stuff I would NEVER shoot. (Blowjobs, girl-on-girl, messy sex, extreme WAM.) That isn't remotely what I do, and I don't think it helps my cause to present these other examples to her.... But you're right. If she Googles THAT stuff and lumps it all together, it's a much tougher sell.
And TBH I haven't had a flake like this in almost 8 years. The shift I've noticed, though, has been where the previous generation of models would either not respond back (or respond with a "not interested").... The millennial models seem to default to "sounds like fun" or "I would love to work with you!" right away. And only later do they back out.
The end result is still the same... But the latter case requires a lot more time/effort on my part, which invariably is time wasted... And also more frustrating in the long run.
