First off, the video source for this is a preview clip from http://clips4sale.com/3d-wam, wamfan's C4S store featuring "Side-By-Side" 3D videos from his main wetandmessy.com site. Anyway, I was playing with VLC player and found on YouTube how to view those "Side-By-Side" videos as "Anaglyph" 3D videos (red/blue glasses). Then after many tries I figured out how to convert and SAVE that anaglyph effect, a process which so far I have unfortunately been unable to recreate Now, no GIF will compare to the crisp look and lovely splats of the original wetandmessy videos. But if you have 3D red/blue glasses, this will be one of the baddest GIFS you've ever seen
Finally figured out that for some files (too bright?) VLC is just unable to save the conversion, so I was able to create a 3D GIF from a different sample vid. The other samples though are really not crisp enough or don't translate well color-wise for a worthy animation. But while I'm here, might as well add a couple jpegs converted to anaglyph 3D using GIMP. Mud seems to work particularly well
It's true. I do have many videos available exclusively in 3D. You can pick them up at 3dwam.com
This is great if you have a 3D tv and are looking for some WAM content. Stereoscopic 3D has an incredible ability to transport you into the scene!
If you don't have a 3D tv, you can enjoy the 3D by downloading the videos to your computer, and using Stereoscopic Player to view them with RED/BLUE glasses on your computer. It will do the conversion to anaglyph on the fly, and you will be able to tweak the color balance to your liking. Once you have the program installed, it will enable you to watch 5mins of video with purchasing a license.
I love it! There's so little 3D stuff out there that it may not seem worth the bother at first. But 3D red/blue glasses (actually red/"cyan") are so cheap and easy to get, one can hardly call it a bother. Alone the paper ones are less then a buck, or you could get them quick at a dollar store kids section in a $3 book. And there's a multitude of WAM pictures you can three-dimensionalize yourself for free (see here). If you ever wanted to put yourself in the kitchen with Redd and Babs, just flip those glasses on this
Before this thread turns into a pumpkin, should make a note that I certainly plan to make more 3D still pics and create a folder in my profile. If you do a Forum search later on 3Dwam this is the only thread that pops up as of this writing. So you'll find out quickly who it was is that made you buy them funky shades, and hopefully find more pics. I'm still learning what works and what doesn't, and things go slow because I have the hands of a 90 year man (hope some young whippersnapper wammerfapper takes up the cause).
In the meantime, here's some more stills for 3D red/cyan glasses that worked out pretty good, IMHO. If nothing else they're useful examples of what canvases work well (or maybe what doesn't?).
