Question for those experienced in pies. How long does the smell of whipped cream or batter stay on you after a session? Looking to do a session soon but dont' want to come home with evidence
Stick to "fake" non-dairy whipped cream - usually labelled in your grocery store as "whipped topping". They are either totally or nearly milk-free. Cool whip has some milk proteins, but not enough to give that "spoiled" smell when you play in it for a while. There is a brand called Cocowhip that is completely dairy-free.
Don't add milk to your cake batter (use water) and it smells even less than the pies.
You may still smell the sweeteners and the vanilla or chocolate flavoring a bit, but a good, strong axe body spray will overpower the smell on you (if you are into that sort of thing) and a febreeze or even a few scented candles should be enough to mask those smells in the room - assuming you cleaned up well.
I've found that even after I'm clean, my clothes are clean and the play area is clean - I can still smell sour milk. That's because I always get a blob stuck up my nose! So make sure you blow your nose well!
Good advice above, though depends on how sensitive you need to be for 'evidence'.
Obviously coming home smelling like cake batter, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, etc might be no good. But coming home smelling like strange/different bath soap, dish soap, or even 'fresh shower with your normal soap' after what should have been a hard day at work, may be 'evidence' in itself.
A great tip from Candy Custard I like is lemon juice (nature's cleanser!).
And as others suggest, using UHT and vegetable oil based synthetic cream substitute will also help.
Wash sheets and any clothes twice with biological detergent and conditioner - or they will smell like vomit after they dry. The clothes we used in our early films were ruined not because we couldn't get the dairy cream off them - but because they smelt like sick afterwards.
I do think, though, after all that as much of the lingering smell is actually imagined. Paranoia and secrecy don't help. The senses are heightened and with things getting up the nose and in the mouth that wouldn't normally and in large quantities.
Dubberdee's hair (thick, wavy, shoulder length) smells a bit foody for, perhaps, 36 hours - and that's only if you have your face in it - and that's after it's been really thoroughly shampooed with very greasy dairy cream and gunge etc.
