I have been experimenting with pie recipes and came up with something that I really liked and figured I might as well share. It's really sticky and awful to clean up but it worked great for the video I did because it stuck so well and stayed on for the entire shoot.
Basically what I did was buy a bunch of chocolate frosting, marshmallow fluff, and corn syrup. You really need an electric mixer for this. I slowly mixed in the marshmallow fluff and corn syrup with one can of frosting alternating between the fluff and corn syrup until I got a thick yet pour-able consistency. It's not the easiest recipe I have worked with but is great if you want to make sure the pie really sticks on to the target.
Let me know if you guys like how it looks and if anyone else has a fun recipe they want to share!
I'm all for sharing recipes! Any producer who keeps their splosh recipes secret is a greedy cocksucker and they can go fuck themselves!
Below is a screen cap of one my models all messed up with instructions on how to make it yourself.
The disgusting black sludge my model is smothered in is a simple mix of cake batter and black tempera paint. Its one box of chocolate cake mix per bottle of cheap tempera poster paint. No water required. This shit takes for ever to wash off. Its the best.
The pie filling is a mixture of vanilla cake frosting and shaving cream. One tub(maybe two if you have the cash) of frosting per can of shaving cream is all it takes. I mix it a bucket with my arm, but you could probably use a mixer too.
I've always perferred relatively runny pie recipes. By usual go to is just cake mix, one box of cake mix to two cups of water. I tried mixing in pancake syrup as well, but it simply got to thick. Mind you I was hand-mixing with a whisk, and the whisk got all bent out of shape.
I think I am going to cruise around for an electric hand mixer. It probably is about time I upped by pie game.

Oh nice!!
Here's a few:
1. Whip whipping cream (as heavy as you can find), until it is.. well.. whipped cream. Lower the speed of the electric mixer and add powdered sugar (1 cup to 1 cup cream or so) until the stuff is nice and sticky. Add more if you like, I add as much as 1.5 to 2 cups of sugar, depending (I eyeball it). Add 1 heaping teaspoon of guar gum, and keep mixing until you have a very stable, sticky, whipped cream. Add more guar gum if the first tsp isn't doing it for you. Be sure to turn the mixer speed down, else you will turn the whipped cream into butter when all you want to do it so mix in the sugar and guar gum.
2. Whip cream, add marshmallow fluff until the stuff is pretty dense and sticky.
3. Make a meringue from 1cup to 2cup egg whites. Add as much powdered sugar as it takes to make a very dense, gooey meringue (the meringue willl keep collapsing as you add the sugar). Add 1 heaping teaspoon or more of guar gum. You want an insanely sticky, thick meringue that isn't too fluffy, and is fairly dense. It is a meringue, so it won't be that dense, but if you add enough sugar and mic in the guar gum, it will make an evil pie that's going to stick like crazy.
