I'm constantly in fear (slight exageration) of one of my friends finding my kiddie pool. Really how do you blag that one?

Presumably this is only an embarrassing situation if you use the kiddie pool exclusively for solo wamming. Call me crazy, but if a friend asked me why I had a kiddie pool and I could honestly reply with,

"Funny you should ask. Last week I had two very attractive young women over. We filled it up with custard, and, well... do I need to spell it out for you?"

I wouldn't be embarrassed at all.
