I love large messes like that, much preferring to see the girl in the mess, rather than the mess on the girl.

As I had mentioned before, I name my file names to match the movie name, at least fairly closely.

As for other clips I've purchased over the years, I tend to put them in folders based on substance. So a girl in a pool of chocolate sauce in a clip named "x5yt73gf124jhy.avi" (an extreme exaggeration) will be re-named and moved to the 'wam/movies/chocolate' folder.

I agree though, the problem is after I've re-named the clip, I might unwittingly purchase it again.

I hadnt really thought about accidental re-purchases, but yet another reason for clips to be named something useful to start with!

I like messygirls way of having it as "mgdlXXX" because one can know what it is if they need to. I keep things in folders by producer.

the one i wish would do it differently is messy angel, because as they remove old content it's possible to miss stuff from before i found out of it's existance.

Now they have a download store, but they don't upload clips to it as soon as they leave the main site, so there's some clips that are not currently available to anyone right now. The thing is that most of their downloads have odd names like

"mav440y_Jess_Well_In_The_Pink"

MAV stands for messy angel video i think, but i don't know what the "440y" portion is. the rest is obviously whats going on in the clip.

The end result is that i don't know how many clips i'm missing from the download store to the updates since i joined. As a collecter, i'd really like to have the full set of things.

All of my clips follow a standard naming convention: initials of the site (HSW) volume number (i.e. 01) scene number (i.e. 2) lowercase dl, indicating that this is the download version of the scene (this is more for organization on my end, read: making sure I don't accidentally put the download version on the DVD, because as much as I like my logo, I know it would get tedious seeing it at the start of every scene on a DVD)

You can find any of my files on a PC by searching HSW*.avi

I use the same numbering/naming scheme for the Producer's # in the download store.

I have no naming convention. Think I will be changing that as of today. I have had a thought...

i do find it easier to find if a clip has been named, i do sometimes rename them myself

I totally agree with you to an extent. I think the file name should include a brief description of what the clip is and if the site has a long running file numbering system, it should also retain that in it as well. Basically just combine the two things you have listed.

Also, new shoots looks awesome from the preview pic.
