Hey guys. To continue the whole conversation about bit rates, I've been working on getting UMD to re-encode video files, and I've been testing it. I'm pretty happy with the results, as it's really reducing some file sizes without really affecting quality!
I am not replacing anybody's files without their approval. Right now, the newly-encoded files are going straight to bins for review.
I am going to open up the re-encoding utility for anybody to use if you want to. But for now, I'm just testing it, as right now there's a problem with it timing out on the larger files and I wanna smooth out some other front-end glitches. Mostly, you won't get any notifications while I am testing with your files. I am observing the new encodings and then deleting them when I'm done. However, if some of the encodings are successful (in my opinion), I might contact you to see if we can go ahead and swap out the original file with the new. I may also trigger UMD to auto-notify you for this purpose.
Thanks for your help. Testing is underway!

Stay messy, my friends.
