The political venom in some of the comments on that story are scary!

There seem to be two different versions of the story, one that she went for a swim in the lake wearing her dress and sank because of the weight of the dress, and another quoted in the comments that she was standing on rocks above the waterfall, slipped, and went over the falls.

A tragic loss of a young life whatever happened. ((sorrows))

I have a general rule that I'll never ask a model to do something I wouldn't do myself, especially outdoors, and in river scenes I'll often go in first, fully dressed (usually in boilersuit, rubber boots, and belt), all the way in, and show the model exactly how deep I want her to go, where I want her to walk, etc. Means we both know what the riverbed is like underfoot, how strong the current is, how cold the water is when you're standing chest deep in it, etc.

 

Ok you want the truth the real truth here it is the young woman was in a shallow lake area of the falls but really it isn't shallow because theirs a current in that river and where she drowned was 8 meters deep . These falls and I know them well have been to them before have notices both in French and English saying its prohibited from swimming or jumping in the falls. Also people should know rocks can be slippery . This should serve has a warning to photo or video producers if a client asks to go to a place you have never been to before I would check the location before shooting . These falls did have signs up and all the locals know about this river and it's falls every year at least 8 people die just at these falls because of the strong current they all have drowned . The diver who recovered her body new the area it only took 4 hours for them to locate and recover her body .
