In light of Puddypies recent posts in the Japan earthquake thread, I thought I'd attempt to shift the arguments from there to here, especially after reading the screaming match that he generated in our chatroom last night.

This is a textbook example of why PuddyPie has been banned so many times in the past. Please keep in mind that none of this would have happened, had PuddyPie NOT made his original comment in the Japan earthquake post and, therefore, has nobody to blame but himself for the wrath of the community.

Okay, I think we can all agree that PuddyPie is by far the most annoying member of this board. Why do we give him attention? He's either unable or unwilling to understand why people have such little patience with him, so why not just let him go? You don't have to ban him, you don't have to yell at him, just...leave him to himself.

Whenever he tries to turn a thread into her own personal pity party, don't write a word in response. Whenever he tries to derail a thread with one of his senseless non sequiturs or oh-so-funny youtube videos, leave him to ponder the uselessness of his own comments.

hmmmmm...... I try to do what I feel is the right thing and PuddyPie insults me. I post messages from a private conversation between PuddyPie and PGKay in an an effort to show that Kay was being compassionate and helpful towards PuddyPie and I get insults.

It's quite clear that nothing the administration of this website can do will satisfy Puddypie short of kissing his ass and giving in to his demands. Since we have not done that, PuddyPie feels that it is fully in his right to berate and insult the site administrators and it's members.

This whole thing is so sad and so infuriating. As I read the dialog between Trevor and others I just get a pit in my stomach. I was at home enjoying a Saturday night when JHub came to me and said that I may want to go into the chat room and calm Trevor down, since apparently he was having words with several other chatters (Jay had received a PM from Happy Camper telling him that Puddy was having a meltdown - no pun intended).

I don't know what to make of all this. Many who were in there had a hand in this; those that blast Trevor and obviously Trevor himself...and for what? Whether a post is in the proper forum.

In addition, I am not at all happy that my private conversation with Trevor was published for everyone to see without anyone asking me first. I understand why Middy did it but I still don't think it was right. Maybe I need to go back and read the UMD ToS but I feel like my privacy was violated. As a matter of fact there are many private conversations being interspersed among the main room chat. They are all pretty innocuous but I'm sure that took some of those people by surprise as well. My guess is that there was a selective edit to only highlight those conversations (public and private) that pertained to the theme of the disagreement. Still, I feel that divulging private conversations is also over the line. I needed to have a PM with Trevor without everyone else chiming in.

I personally dont know what else to say. This whole affair is just so frustrating, and insignificant, especially in light of the global castastrophy unfolding in Japan. This has the potential to impact us all.

The Japan thread was merely the straw that broke the camel's back. PuddyPie has a nasty habit of thinking the UMD exists to cater to his whims and his alone. He has come into a few threads just to change the subject to something more to his liking.

Was the Japan thread off topic? It's not about WAM but UMD has a sizable Japanese community. It's a gray area and most users were willing to let it slide. But PuddyPie wants to chime in just bitch about how its presence doesn't please him.

Dude needs to grow up. If he doesn't like a particular topic there are pages and pages of threads for him to read. He doesn't get it and a lot of people are fed up.

For what it's worth, I concur with the sentiment toward not merely a ban here, but also much less availability to what must be his constant appeals for reinstatement whenever he is banned. Does anyone honestly think that decency and maturity will suddenly manifest in a person so utterly impervious to those traits? Is there any reason to believe that the next time or the time after that will be better than the last several? What we have in PuddyPie is someone who cannot take "no" for an answer. He is effectively unmoderatable. That makes him precisely the sort of person who merits no place in any sort of online community. No matter how much he pleads from exile that this time he will respect staff and avoid deliberately stirring up melodrama, do not be fooled -- those are the empty words he says to get his nose back in the proverbial tent. No sincere apology can emerge from him. 100% of the available evidence suggests that such pleas are nothing more than a ploy that will enable this highly problematic and minimally constructive user to return, toting all his disrespectful and disruptive ways with him.

I don't think it's disrespectful to put that post on a fetish site. Would it be disrespectful to post it to a music forum? What if a dog lover's site mentioned it on their homepage? What is inherently so wrong about our fetish that we cannot even mention a tragedy somewhere else? We are not making light of it or poking fun or using it for personal gain. We are a forum of people. I'm like you and you are like me, and we are good people in a good community. Why can't we talk about it here? Are we sullying the memory of those who are dead in Japan because we happen to have a common interest in wam and happen to be talking about the events? How are they hurt at all or even affected? Puddy did bring up a legitimate point--one that deserved an answer. And the forum did overreact. That said, it was only an overreaction in my opinion within the context of that particular thread. The problem is that Puddy's context extends far beyond that, and within that expanded context, it was not an over-reation. He is no ordinary UMD visitor. He comes with loads of baggage and has made many enemies already. Any small wrongdoing, which would probably go unnoticed if it were anybody else, gets magnified through the "Trevor Lens." The fact that he knows this, yet still does these things, is why people are correct in saying that he is bringing it onto himself. It's not bullshit. It's the case of a person whose welcome is worn extremely thin (to say the least) but still takes pride in complaining and name-calling because we've decided to extend someone else 1/100th of the leeway that we have given him.

That was not the real underlying problem. The real problem is the whole history of Trevor, and even the UMD's terms of use and how they are applied in general. The off-topic arguments are just the most recent example.


I agree. We should not be reposting anyone's private conversations. I understand that Mid did it because he is letting Trevor hang himself with his own words. But when people use the private button, they should feel safe in assuming that nobody will ever see it other than who they are taking to, and the mods.

Based on some of the things that he's said in the chatroom, as well as his general history, Trevor is now going on a permanent ban. There will be no coming back for him.

I wouldn't quite call it that. Trevor is not an idiot. He's actually a pretty intelligent person with good reasoning skills. Just so happens that he is also against-the-grain and vocal enough that any time people have an opinion that's against his, he can't just let it go. Some people really are just dumb and don't know any better and need to be banned because there is literally nothing you can possibly do or say to reason with them. I thought that convincing him to overcome his pride would work. In other words, I figured he wasn't a lost cause. With more effort, he probably could be satiated.

You had a problem with their decision to leave the Japan thread alone, and you did not contact me in any way. You instead vented on the forum.
