I wanted to try using a high speed camera, this was the first time I experimented with it. I actually thought I had wiped it by accident (Long story) but just found it.
It's not as good quality as I hoped for, I need to throw more light at it. The camera is actually shooting at 240 frames per second, and isn't a particuly high end piece of equipment...so needs a lot of light.
I'm curious as to what people think, I'm thinking of doing it for each pie shoot as something to add. Probably after the main video rather than breaking it all up.
If people like it, I will keep doing it and look at upgrading to proper high speed camera. If not... well, it was worth looking at, it's pretty interesting.
This is taken from the Camylin playing the lighter game video I just released.
If you have already purchased the video (UMD store as well) drop me a line with your email address and order number if applicable and I will get a copy to you with the extra footage.
If you haven't, then feel free to grab it now of course.
...lighting looks fine, for the most part (could be a little brighter), but the image quality is still great and nothing like a slow mo (super high frame speed) pie hit on a pretty gal...thanks!
All Artshtick downloads now just 3.49! http://artshtick.com
I'm not a fan of the slow mo. I like real time impact and splatter. I'd still buy the video though as long as it's at the end... just please don't interrupt the action.
I like it! And I agree it should be at the end and not break up the regular speed action. But seeing all of the expressions a person goes through as the pie is on it's way is great!
That is a gorgeous model, a fantastic pie hit, and great reaction from her. I'd love to see you include slo-mo versions of all the pie hits at the end of your pie videos. Like a lot of others here, I think it would be best to stick them all at the end.
I'm curious- what camera are you using to shoot this, what resolution, and what's the price point? I've always loved high speed and wanted to get into it, but most of the cameras that do it (that I've found, at least) are still a few grand.

It's actually consumer grade. The resolution isn't too hot, and the higher the frame rate the smaller the picture size. 240fps comes out at 640x480. By the time you get to 1000 frames per second it's absolutely tiny!
I PM'd you the details.
I will see how popular it is before I upgrade - the next level is as you say, a couple of grand.
