I don't think the original post was loud or hysterical enough to be much food for trolls. 99% of the time, the best way to deal with scum on the Internet is to not deal with them at all. It is easy enough to get into a feud, but virtually impossible to accomplish anything constructive along that path. Short of actually not noticing their pathetic cries for attention, acting as if you did not notice them is typically the best course of action.
That said, a reasonable and emotionally low-key inquiry as to how to deal with a particular bit of online scum is good enough. If a worthwhile question is asked often enough, it may eventually produce a worthwhile answer. If someone is actively trying to impersonate you online, appeals to administrators and moderators may be well-advised. After all, anything approaching diligence in proprietorship includes a desire to deny impostors and other troublemakers access they are likely to abuse. It is unwise to feed the beast by showing distress in public or engaging in personal clashes. Yet it is wise to discuss countermeasures even if no one has a better suggestion than to ignore the bad behavior and avoid any direct engagement with the troublemaker.
