I just had a thought about what everyone actually does for a living, here on UMD.

Obviously people don't have to give their exact role and company and whatnot, we all respect privacy but, I was just interested what kind of varying respones there'll be.

Myself? I'm a Visual Merchandiser for a very well known denim company.

Interested to hear what kinda lives people out there lead =)

I'm a computer software developer. Most of my work centers around business/database software, but I also develop video processing software.

I trained for a career in the law and politics. Then, in 1994, I had a chance to help launch a Web design firm well ahead of its time. A year later I relocated to become a partner in my own Chicago-based Internet services company. Eventually, the cliches of capitalism killed the joy I felt from all this innovative work. I haven't had a regular job since 1998. In this century I alternate between years with almost zero income and years where something clicks for me as a freelance writer.

Graphic Designer for broadcast news. Not too glamorous, but I get to be creative and It pays the bills.
