Maybe you all can help me out here? I have always been confused where in the world of WAM baby oil falls? Is it considered to be only wet or would it be more be more appropriate to call it messy?

This has been discussed here before with no real conclusion. From the perspective of looking at pictures, I suppose it fits in with wetlook. From the perspective of how it FEELS, it feels more like a messy substance.

In my opinion it's in the messy category. The results can look like wetlook, like CSJ said, but the texture is messy... not the most messy in the world ever, but it's messy. I think wetlook is water only?
