I'm fielding a question for an interested party flirting with the possibility of producing @ home, one-girl-show messy vids, so I'm wondering: if you're an individual that has been putting up your own small-scale, homemade wam vids with the help of UMD's system, has it been worth your while financially? I expect the answers will vary depending on factors like model hotness, gear used, and type of mess used, but what has your experience been? (If you want to share, but also prefer to keep your response confidential, just PM me.) I don't need CFO financial reports, either - even a "worth it" or a "not worth it" will be good enough for me. Just wondering if it's potentially viable or not.

Worth it. I get great feed back and people seem to enjoy it. i use water ever i can get. i use a mini dv jvc camcorder and a Kodak easy share are 6.1 MP. I also use an older hi8 camcorder witch i seem to get better color out of. Next step is HD. just to make it look better and also some better lighting

We have been unable to produce any more this year so far but I wish we could.
The response was great and financially it works out very well and is greatly simplified by going through UMD's system plus you have a huge readymade customer base to sell too.
As well as that my wife has quite enjoyed that attention and compliments too so I would say a definite yes to your friend.

Due to me being my own model and having the camera and the mudpits here anyway, I know I've come out ahead although no, it's not close to being a living. It's a supplement.

And I do believe, indeedy I do, that your skepticism is well-founded because right now there are a lot of folks who have bills and no job, so...

They're not going to download our clips.

If this economy EVER improves (and from these parts it feels eternal)...and people who don't have jobs now can get back to work...

I think things will pick up here quite a bit. My little trickle might become a steady flow.

Our stuff IS desired. Not many people don't want at least some things connected to their favorite fetish.

If ya gotta pick between ten bucks' worth of clips or a ten-dollar bag of groceries (especially if they're for your kids)...you KNOW the clips are gonna wait.

We've (Marlicious and I) done ok so far with the clip sales.

I'm hoping they will improve more as we pick up our new wind-proof camera on Monday, and begin shooting in high definition. (and also with a 60 fps speed for nicer slow-mo's)

We're shooting tomorrow and the next several days weather calls for hot, sunny and muddy! Since our mud season is so short here, we'll be shooting as many clips in as few days as we possibly can. We've got the story lines worked out already. We're absolutely moving ahead with more and more videos, as they are also providing a slow but steady trickle income. Over time, and with a larger variety of vids to choose from, we hope to increase the trickle to a fairly nice flow!

To be honest I did pretty badly when I had my clip up. I sold a good few but with the UMD fees, currency conversion and then AlertPay fees on top, I only ended up getting about a third of what people had paid.

I think you might have got your figures wrong there. Or if you have them right you're doing it a very different way to me. The UMD takes a 20% cut of your sales. There is no charge on Alert Pary for the first $2000 you recieve so you shouldn't have been paying any fees then. There is no charge on Alert Pay to exchange your currency and their exchange rates are better than most banks. The only time you would pay is to withdraw money from your alert pay account into your bank account. This costs £2.25 a go so its best to leave a deccent total build up and then withdraw it. Bearing all that in mind all I pay from my sales is the 20% to Messmaster and once every few months £2.25 to Alert Pay. Thats a lot less than 2 thirds of my sales.

To answer the question on the thread more generally the umd is working very nicely for me. I don't use it as my main download store, the older episodes are put on here and taken off our main store to save hosting costs. I think the biggest advantage of the umd store for producers is the lack of hosting costs.
