Can we please all stop getting so heavy on users who repost links to clips or pics or anything for that matter unless it is a obviously stupid thing to do such as when it is already posted on the front page of the forum. I firmly believe it is probably stopping people posting things here and I fear we may be missing out.
By all mean point this out to the OP and I and the other mods will try to delete them so as not to clutter up the forum but we do really need to manage it in a much more polite way.
One of the best moments for me is when I find something that I think is original to post and I bet we all feel that way and the only reason I post is to share with other like minded members in hope they will enjoy it and it will be considered a good find, it's why we're all fans but not all producers we all love the same thing, some of us can contribute pics and some contribute finds but we all contribute, but when I see someone asking for forgiveness on their post on the chance it is a repost already I think it is time to stop attacking people who are doing nothing more than trying to contribute and I know you will all say about the search but I can tell you and I'm sure the other mods will agree but the search system here is absolute shite

Well said, have never personally had a problem with this as the chances are I will have missed it the first time anyway and besides, all good things are worth a second look.... or third.....

Thanks Yamtree, I totally agree. Nothing has annoyed me more recently than seeing users, sometimes posting for the first time, being sarcastically pointed back to a prior post of the link.

It's the single best way to put them off posting again, or worse alienate them from using the forum which in the long run benefits no one.

Besides, I've used the search feature a few times to look for something that I know was posted, and it doesn't come up.

Some things never change on the UMD. When I was much younger I thought people who had been ostracized or bullied themselves would be more empathetic and tolerant, but it just isn't true.

 

If nobody minds overmuch, I think I will just continue to overlook accidental reposts if I see them.

I really do feel mature enough to handle the fact that I've seen something before.

Agreed that reposts hurt nobody. Sometimes really great stuff deserves to be seen again.

Producers spend a great deal of time making their scenes, so it's worth seeing some things more than one time in one post.

I'm sure we've all watched a great full-length motion picture more than once... and even ones that aren't so great!

 

Well said yamtree. If it's ben posted before and you can't say anything positive, then don't say anything.

Interestingly I noticed a correlation between those who whinge, and those who make no positive contribution to the forum.

I can understand people replying with a link to the original thread in order to bring attention to what others have already said about the posted vid/pic; and people mentioning that "yeah, it was posted last week, but it rocks!"; and even making jokes when something has been posted way too many times.

But I can not understand what is wrong with people who actually COMPLAIN about the re-post. Seriously, go figure out what the hell is ACTUALLY stressing you out in your life and deal with it; don't take it out on somebody here who just wanted to share something cool with you.
