Well to be fair, he was poking fun at Piemaster36 - if that was a banworthy offense, I'm not sure there'd be anyone left to post here.
(I tease, cause Piemaster36 has made his sure of posts/rants/whinings that could objectively be called "kooky", but he still produces some decent material and I've purchased a good deal of it)
On the whole, I see a 4-point solution to this:
1- A sticky post always on top of the forum from a Mod kindly reminding people to please run at least one simple search before you post - there will still be some repeats, but it shouldn't be as obvious as the double Slapstickstuff posts or some other recent blunders)
2- All members try to be a bit nicer to newer posters for their noobish mistakes.
3- Everyone grow a bit thicker skin on minor insults/teasing - if you make a mistake and people are making fun of you for it, just be more careful next time - don't take it personally.
4- END THIS SERIES OF POSTS NOW - yes Wildy made a fairly random and basically off-topic post, and people poked fun at it - because it was a random and basically off topic post.
There is no evidence of people leaving this board because of an overabundance of sarcasm - the only person who has left is Rich, and that's probably becuase he got a serious girlfriend/fiance.
There's growing up to do on both sides here gang.
