Nice going posting her profile here. Immediately after she was spammed by weird requests ranging from pieing herself in white socks to being asked to jump into a pool of pudding in her bra and panties.

Of course she closed her account quickly. Why can't people learn to be smarter about this? Mixing normal people with an adult fetish community like that is the height of stupidity. I forget who did it, Cisada or something, but you should be ashamed of yourself.

Like I said, there was debate as to her age, but it was unclear at the time I read the original thread. And the phrase "douche nozzle" works for pretty much everything.

Sigh, well, that didn't work.

Posting it here was a calculated risk on my part. My only goal in these matters is to maximize the possibility of getting the desired result. I have a fairly high success rate of engineering these campaigns, but you can't win them all. The douchenozzles are just liabilities in my mind, and in this case, they appear to have won - though, they may well have won regardless of the posting here (it happens all the time).

Just letting these offers play out on their own often doesn't work - the girl gets 20-30 subscribers and nothing ever happens. So, take your poison - I'm utterly unburdened by any ethical handwringing over these issues, my only aim is to increase the probability of getting the desired result.

In my opinion, it would be nice if we had a trusted group of levelheaded people to work on stuff like this - but we don't, so you have to open the floodgates for the douchenozzles.

Yeah, I read the content of the original thread and the response was predictable, although I was agnostic as to whether it was such a bad idea that it shouldn't have been tried.

My greater concern, though, is the disappearance of content without any explanation from whoever has chosen to remove it.

Well, there have been a lot of victories had (I could cite several, but won't)by "crossing the streams" - ones that wouldn't have happened otherwise, because a lot of these projects require a certain amount of manpower.

It would be nice if there were a cozy little email group that would provide enough of that manpower, in the form of sane people who actually want to promote success (free from both douchenozzles and anti-manipulation moralists). I recall there being instances of such things in the past.

Not to draw out this dialogue, but this is where I have a bone to pick with the "don't cross the streams" contingent.

I'd contend that the folks who have ethical peccadilloes about what kind of manipulation is and isn't appropriate are responsible for just as many failures in these quests as the trolls are. Now, admittedly the former group (the moralists) are no doubt a more pleasant group in polite company than the latter group (the trolls), but what does that have to do with anything?

That's a long way of saying that I don't think many people are capable of being very objective in these discussions - of taking a strictly amoral view of the situation.
