when we started to build our shop system our target was to make it is as quick, easy and safe as possible for our customer to be able to download the videos. So we tried to reduce the amount of data the new customers have togive us to a minimum.
But the address is really needed. Everything we do is 100% legal but this require more cutomer informations then. So to calculate the VAT our shopsystem needs to know your address. However, we will NEVER send you anything to your address (no invoice letter or advertising). All contact we have is online by email or with our live chat or through a forum like umd-net).
Phone number:
Well our shop system normaly even ask you for a Fax number and other informations, but I thought that's useless and we did delete it. To reduce the customers data to a minimum.
However, as more as I think about that I agree with you that the information about the customers phone number is not required because we will never go to call our customers!
So thanks for the info, in future we won't aks for a phone number. During the next days we will remove that phone number field. Additional then we will also delete all customer phone numbers from our database. Also yours!
