Sorry for the caps!

So, all of my stuff has been removed from youtube due to voilating terms of use. I'm not happy about this as there is stuff on Youtube that is far worse, explicit etc. Anyone else had problems?? Maybe I just have an enemy... I'll have to track them down, tie them up and gunge them!!

That's just wrong! Maybe we should all start to sing the old Soviet National Anthem! Youtube is a damn police state at times (especially in your case). The material was YOURS, you didn't upload someone's work and claim it as your own. I called BULLSHIT!

I too had my first youtube page removed.

I tried to find a contact email for youtube and struggled.

I think i did finally email them asking for a reason and never received a reply.

I just created a new page and made no refference to my website or clipstore.

Those that post messages asking for more, i just pm them with a link to the clipstore.

Your totally right very annoying as youtube is littered with filth that totally should be removed.

I'm sorry to hear that Jessie! It seems a lot of people that put samples up are attacked by someone that keeps flagging the vids as innapropriate.
It's probably the same assclown that keeps doing it to Rich. It's just too bad that loser can't get a life of his own and let people enjoy theirs.

As best I can tell, YouTube employs a system where any registered imbecile can designate a video or even a user as troublesome, then a bunch of barely trained (and sometimes barely literate) cubicle monkeys review the stream of flagged content. The first and final decision is almost always based on the snap judgement of a twenty-something who thought staring at videos all day was a better way to make Burger King money than actually doing something he or she might be qualified for -- like preparing fast food (no offense to the line cooks in the audience. )

I understand why YouTube has no real process of appeals for free users -- dramatic flamewars would still wind up leaving each decision to human judgement. The sheer volume of content and complaints makes it impractical to charge mature educated sensible employees with carefully deliberating many of those decisions. However, I remain mystified as to why YouTube does not have an oversight process for muzzling problem complainers.

In our niche, identifying 2-5 abusive imbeciles and cutting off all their privileges would be an easy move that would shave countless hours off the workload of complaint reviewers. The same must be true in many other areas of interest. Alas, the top executives are too busy with international incidents and seriously newsworthy content to be bothered trying to improve upon their hugely flawed yet very cheap method of handling complaints. Business is booming and no other video hosting service can compete in terms of popularity. Thus YouTube's leadership seems all too happy to go forward with a system so easily abused by hateful ignorant outcasts constantly acting on the misconception that if they spread misery to others they have somehow elevated themselves from the wretchedness that is their daily existence.

What the fuck, your stuff gets pulled but other offensive stuff is ok. I just don't get it.

Also, a lot of youtube is dominated by algorithms. A lot of the removal process is automatic based on criteria and kicked in to motion by flagging - the review staff at youtube physically could not review everything as there is simply not enough people...

Currently, around 20 hours worth of video is uploaded to youtube over every twenty minutes. Imagine how much is flagged, how much is genuine cause for concern, how much is grey area and how much is a cat playing a piano.



Soon the algorithms will starch looking at the AUDIO in each video both for search and for sifting out the obscene... that will be interesting to say the least.


Not much help to you Jessie I'm afraid - youtube really is just what it is.

To those useing youtube its not just your videos it has more to due with the music in them if you use someones music in your videos your garenteed that youtube will remove it and claim you violated a copywrite law this has been going on for close to a year writing to youtube is like writing to god youll never get an answer the only time you ever get answers on any site is if your a piad member money talks bullshit walks if you think youtube is bad your in for a shock cause facebook can ban your account for no reason cause they felt like it so be warned

In the meantime, if you have content on YouTube that mysteriously vanishes, Google sent me a list of steps, which I've amended here, that you can follow to send a query to the right place:


1.Go to the Safety Center (link at the bottom of every page).
2.Click on the radio button "Community Guidelines Violations."
3.Click on Account Suspensions (right-hand corner). You will get a message that says "Read about inappropriate content"
4.Click on Contact Us, then Video Removal, then Video Removal Inquiry, then Learn more about video removals. From there the steps are clear.

To be honest partly for this reason we've stopped making free trailers. My stuff was flagged even though there was no nudity in the trailer. Also I don't know if other producers have found this but having trailers didn't seem to have any bearing on video sales. So I just saved myself the work.

Jessie, I've been in the same boat many times. I can't count the number of vids we've had removed, and I made sure that there was absolutely NO nudity or implied insertions and no copyrighted music in any of the videos.

I think there was someone out there who basically wanted to make sure our stuff wasn't seen by anyone.

Youtube can be a pain. Is there a reason that more WAM producers haven't used alternative video channels such as Dailymotion? I know a couple use it (Rich for sure) and I don't believe that they have the same issues. Granted, Dailymotion can't compete with Youtube for sheer volume of users, but if the WAM community as a whole embraces Dailymotion (or some other alternative) it may be a good outlet for amateur and professional WAM vids alike.

What are other people's thoughts on this one?

Their search sucks.

Quality and speed isn't up there with youtubes either.

Dailymotion is much better than YouTube, far less idiots on it and you can post tasteful erotica to it clothed or unclothed but it draws the line at porn.

Other sites like metacafe, ebaumsworld, sexyandfunny, and kewego are just as good. In the end we make stuff that is for genuine WAM fans, not some idiotic 16-year-old punk with the IQ of an axolotyl and an attitude that makes Beavis & Butthead look like Morecombe & Wise by comparison.
