I know this has been brought up recently but when you see 12 separate posts from wetlookbabe, one almost after the other dealing with each subcategory of WAM, that is what I call spamming. Sure reminds me of the ol' newsgroups! Shoudn't a producer try to restrain their promos to a couple of posts?
Being a hetero female who is not interested in most young, "hot" female pro models and who is way more into doing things herself than into looking at those same things being done by other people anyway, I do produce clips but I honestly am a terrible, terrible consumer.
It fits with the rest of my personality anyway.
I also don't know what's on prime-time TV and I go to very few movies. I don't know who won an Emmy or a Grammy or an Oscar either. I do watch baseball once in a great while. But I only watch it from a seat in an actual ball park.
It stands to reason that I wouldn't spend much time collecting or watching WAM stuff.
This makes just about every commercial post featuring a hot young curvy babe, or even two or three of them...well, what can I say but men at least get some free pics out of the barrage of advertising.
Just about all of it, though, is "spam" to me.
I don't care. So what?
Given the terrible, terrible economy lately, I honestly can't resent anybody for trying to sell some clips. I wouldn't be surprised at all if a certain proportion of these folks either genuinely need a supplement to a regular income that just can't cut the fat, or they can't actually find a "real" job at all.
My inclination is, if it's on-topic (wet and/or messy)...I will never complain.
Commercial posts not hard to spot and if the subject line is of no interest to me, I never need to open it, nor does anyone need to hear about me refusing to open it.
I'll agree with Nessie. And for no particular reason, I'll add that I never understood the popularity of The Jeffersons. George was funny on [i]All In The Family[/i] when he had Archie Bunker to play off of, but on his own he sunk pretty quickly.

i really didnt mind the past two massive updates. i mean it was all good, well not all in my mind but 89% was. and yeah its kinda funny how this happened kinda close but i play it off and find it kinda funny how alot of folks seem to get all flustered. well thats my 2 ol pennys
If the posts legitimately add to the forum, I don't care how many there are. When 12 new posts pop up with only 3 pics in each though, I think they could have been consolidated into a single thread.
It's not spam. If people want a quick way to pick out the commercial posts they are interested in then they can always search for posts by their favourite producer. If people are interested in finding the messy posts which aren't commercial then maybe we should ask for a none commercial messy posts forum. Personally I'd love to see a forum like that but suspect I'd be one of the few people reading it.

I agree with this statement. I mean, yea, some of us (including myself) probably bitch about a lot of bullshit that the moderators get frustrated with...but the statement above has its legitimacy. Maybe not a single thread to advertise, but several would have been sufficient. 12 is a little excessive. You can call me an asshole or a bitch or a whiner, or whatever, but I have been here for a minute, over 10 years...i agree with noise saying this thread should have been a complaint via message not a post...but at the same time...if this dude is being gunned on for having ONE post complaining about this....I dunno. I mean where the fuck else could we possibly complain about this shit to. This is the purpose of the forum is this not? Is this turning into a police state lol?

I'm gonna let Messmaster deal with this situation. MM already knows my views on flooding the forums with multiple posts by the same producer. It's ironic that he and I had a discussion about this very topic about a month ago, prior to this and the previous forum flood. Here we are now with a dilemma... is it flooding or is it not flooding? Some folks like it, some folks don't. Personally, what annoys me the most is that for each single post made, another post get's pushed off page1 and I don't think this is fair to the other producers.
There is nothing wrong with a producer advertising their products. However, there is a problem when the way they advertise leads to nothing but their products on the front page of this board.
It is just a matter of simple consideration. There are other WAM producers here who put just as much time and effort (if not moreso) into their threads. It isn't fair to them that when they come back here several hours later, thier thread is on the bottom of page 1. Or stuck back on page 2 or 3, b/c someone decided to fill the front page with their own stuff.
SPAM doesn't necessarily have to be off-topic. It could be someone who comes here to share all their thoughts/ideas/responses/products by giving each one their own individual thread.
All at one time.
A good example of how to do it right is Messygirl Leah. When she puts up, say, 5 new downloads at her site, she doesn't give each one their own thread. She puts up one thread that says something like "Five New Downloads at Messygirl.com".
It's easy, it puts it all in one place, and it doesn't unnecessarily fill up the board.
MM can, of course, run the board as he sees fit (he is the one doing the work and paying the bills). I think it would be better, though, if he didn't let anyone SPAM the front page with advertisments like that.
