Don't forget that no one in their right mind would run for office!
Seriously, though, Douglas Adams had it right when he said that anyone who deemed themselves qualified to make decisions for an entire country was not the person you wanted for the job. The person you want, is the person who understands that there are no simple answers, no black, and no white; just thousands of different perspectives and a world of compromises. How would someone like that run a campaign against someone who was sure they had all the answers?
Furthermore, anyone who has actually lived an eclectic, open and honest life will have way too many skeletons in their closet to ever get through the gauntlet of running for public office.
It's hopeless. The good news is that it doesn't matter who we elect president, because they will only be a puppet for the banks and large corporations, anyway.
