If I have three posts on the front page and someone else has one, it will register me being blocked three times and the other person just once?
No. When the forum gets ready to pull all the threads from the database, it first takes a look at all the users the viewer wants to block. It adds them one time, each, to the stats database. This is before the forum threads are pulled out, so it doesn't matter if the thread results will have one of their posts or 100; It only enters this statistic once per person per page load.
After that, it tells the database to pull all forum threads except the ones that were to be blocked.
All i can say is Chris has either accidentally left something on the refresh button, or he loves this site more than i thought possible, ove 100 hits with just 1 guy filtered is insane

Ok... so... what... about... refreshes?
If someone blocking someone sits and just refreshes the forum over and over again what happens?
To my mind, useful stats would not be who... but exactly how many people are actually using this function. The top twenty doesn't actually mean much.
Also, how many PEOPLE are blocked, not how many times people are blocked.
Would that not make more sense for figuring out if this is a waste of time or not?

If somebody refreshes, it will increment the counter over and over again.
Look, the stats are just a simple function that I threw up there so we could round up a little bit of info from the data that's already in there. Page hits, not the number of people using or blocked by the feature, is a more useful statistic from a webmaster point of view, but it really doesn't matter: The important thing is that people can tweak the results how they want them now. The stats will come down eventually anyway.

That's cool, I wasn't trying to pick bones. I'm simply curious as to how many people actually use it. I think it's the loud few thinking they are shouting for the many... and the many are perfectly happy.

But numbers speak for themselves.
Sure it's the loud few. That's already a known fact. They'll probably use the filter, plus a curious few others might add a person or two. The way I look at it is if I made a few more visitors a little bit happier, then it's worth it. The point of the filter was to let them have their way without forcing all of us to settle on a single decision that the majority won't like.
If you really want to see how many people use the feature, I can scrounge up those numbers if you want. But counting page hits gives weight to those who use the site more, and I think that's a pretty useful statistic.
