Not usually a fan of cartoon pies but this scene actually looks suitably epic. Like an animated "Battle Of The Century." It's a ton of stills... I'm assuming there's video somewhere as well?....

Yes as a matter of fact there is. I had to dig around for a long time on the internet and finally found a guy in UK who had all these 80's cartoons and burned me a copy on DVD. I don't know how or if it would be possible to upload it to the internet (I don't know how to convert DVD to WMV/MPG etc, plus copyright issues!). I might be able to burn copies for others, but that could take awhile.

They had a lot of slapstick on this cartoon series. One episode a food fight erupts in a cafeteria and once again Dennis's Dad gets a pie to the face, but this time his wife Alice also laughs at him and gets a pie to her face. Another episode Dennis's animals/pets are let loose at Alice's hen party (I think Dennis actually got a hen for his mom's hen party HA!) and a large layered cake (3 tiers, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry) goes flying into the air, separates into it's three different layers, and three different women get hit by one of the layers.

I reember it as well. DIC produced cartoons never skimped on the messiness.

Fantastic post! I've spoken for my love and lean towards animated WAM before, so it's good to see a new topic cropped up. Nothing quite beats the full coverage on the girl in the glasses and the blonde getting it. A lot of this stuff skipped me as a kid whenver I watched Dennis the Menace. Post more if you got 'em-thanks!

An Oldie but a Goodie!

Now if there are any producers out there who would like to tackle a pie fight like this I'm all ears!

It has all the hallmarks of a great piefight...the setup...the snob...the sneaky little accident that starts it all off!
