Waht would all think of a "people I know, that I'd love to see pied" thread.

For instance if you had a pic of your hot boss, or even just your boss or friend, and you'd like to post the pic so other users could comment.

Personally I have a few pics of people I know (one way or the other) dressed really well, and I'd love to share them so others could share my fantasy of seeing them completely messed up.

This also reminds me of the people who still think we should allow minors on here, as some girls at 16 years of age may 'look' as though they are 19. The legalities are what matters, it's not a question of appearance, it's a question of obeying the law.

Although a famous person's image is in the public domain, a regular person's is not, so posting their image here is illegal without their permission.

As for minors on the UMD, here's a favorite of mine . . . (the girl is over 18, it's the miners behind her I'm talkin' about)

What's most likely illegal is using their image to advertise something.

Again, it's not a matter of what's legal or not, but of what's a really fucking bad idea. Even if it were famous people, it would still be a pretty pointless thread; using non-famous people adds a bunch of creepiness.

Depends where one's personal creepiness threshold is. Obviously "pieday69"'s is pretty damn high. Someone else might have a low one, and wonder if it's creepy to watch Katy Perry get slimed at the Kids' Choice Awards, or to come out of the wam closet to their partner.

I am in agreement regarding using someone for advertising, but if I took a photo of some random hot chick and posted it on here, I could possibly get sued.. That's why the models sign release forms to protect the producers of wam. Granted, it's not likely I'd get sued, more likely the person would insist I remove the image, but it is technically illegal.

The 'public place' issue is also subejct to interpretation. A hot chick on the beach in a thong may make the front page of the local newspaper, but they ALWAYS get permission first. Though the beach is public, you're seen exposing a lot more of yourself than say at the office, so people have issues with their photos used without permission.

Is it a photo of a person with TImes Square in the background, or a photo of Times Square with people showing the nature of the area? There is a difference, though it is intrepretive to say the least.

Reading the article, it seems that there may have been some issues regarding its being published for commercial purposes ("right of publicity"), making it a less-than-perfect example, but this hypothetical horrible thread would not be for commercial purposes. It might be a gray area in certain cases, but people usually have fewer rights than they think regarding photos of themselves.

Not really. If you are already asking yourself if it's creepy, that's a pretty big clue and yes... it is creepy.
